Amazing experience

Since booking Armaye was in constant contact with me updating me on anychanges and promptly answered all my questions! Awol was my guide for the tour to Bale Mountains for two day, he's an amazing guy and him and the driver were amazing wildlife spotters! I got to see all of the animals I wanted including 10+ wolves, hundreds of Mountain Nyalas, three troops of colobus and two troops of bale monkey, giant mole rats, feedbacks buskhbucks so many endemic birds and including the elusive giant forest big in harenna forest! And also some a.azing cultural experience twith the locals I had the best time ever and I cant recommend Armaye and his team enough! They have been absolute professionals, fun and most of all good friends after I had some incident in Kenya the previous week

We booked the 17 Days Wildlife Safari Tour with Armaye being our main interest the photography of wild life. The offered tour was a perfect match to our needs. From the very beginning, Armaye provided a lot of information, the communication was fluid all the time, he showed also flexibility to adjust details of the itinerary, giving us a high level a confidence with his knowledge and professionalism. Upon arrival at Addis Ababa Airport, everything run smoothly and attached to the planned schedule. Armaye is a great guide and companion for this kind of challenging safaris, where long distances must to be covered different transports and the visits to remote areas of the National Parks are a must to spot the targeted animals. Our high expectations were surpassed!! The two drivers were great, at Simien Montains National Park, he was an expert animal spotter too. All the local guides, in all places where needed, were very good. At the National Parks, the expert eye of Armaye was invaluable, also his sense of photographer, we enjoyed every minute spent with Armaye. Regarding the tour organization, it was perfect, and Armaye was all the time checking our particular needs and taking care constantly about them, even talking to the restaurant chefs to adjust the menus for us!. We think we covered a big part of the most relevant National Parks to spot endemic animals, like Simien and Bale Mountains as the most impressive of them. The long list of mammals to spot were checked and most of the relevant birds too!! In Harar we experienced the early night session with the Hyena men, unbelievable! The hotels booked had some up and downs but understanding that we were visiting some remote areas with a limited tourism developing, we were overall satisfied, all them were clean and with comfortable beds. Special remarks to Simien Lodge, Haile Resort Awassa and, on top of all them, Doho Lodge, an amazing place. As a conclusion, the safari tour focus was great, the organization perfect and the value for money more than reasonable. Armaye is an excellent guide and organizer, but even more important he is a great guy! My recommendation, if somebody wants to visit Ethiopia, is booking the trip with Armaye Tours, with no doubt!

The Armaye Ethiopia Tours motto is YOU TRAVEL, WE CARE and it fully reflects how the company works. We spent an unforgettable 14 days travelling to the south of Ethiopia on a trip organized by Armayer. Before arriving in Ethiopia, we received a complete set of information, advices and answers to the questions asked, so the only thing left to do was to pack up and go for the adventure. The travel plan was prepared in such a way that it was possible to admire this unique and interesting country without haste. Armaye put us in the hands of an exceptional guide / driver Kinfe, who made sure that the trip was comfortable and safe. We did the full program planned and the service was on the highest level. We could admire both the life of the Ethiopians and the wild nature that surrounded us. The cherry on the cake were the last two days in Bale Mountains, where Armayer took over the role of a guide. There we had the opportunity to watch a lot of birds and mammals, including Ethiopian Wolves. After the holidays, we were left with great photos, many wonderful memories and a desire to return To Ethiopia again. Excellent Tour to Awash and Doho

We had a great time with Armaye and driver Kinfir. They took great care of us, taking us to delicious restaurants, and generally making everything easy and smooth. We loved the safari drives in Awash National Park and Aledeghi Reserve, and soaking in the hot springs at Doho Lodge. We highly recommend the tour for a great weekend trip outside of Addis to relax and enjoy nature!

Armaye made sure my visit to Ethiopia was the best it could be.

You will have the best time with Armaye in Ethiopia. We planned my trip together and he made adjustments as it came near so that I could maximize the variety of animals I could see. I saw numerous gelada monkeys, walia ibex and 99 species of birds. You will really enjoy touring with him.

Above and beyond expectations

I am a solo female traveler and this was my very first trip to Africa. From the very beginning Armaye was so helpful, flexible and responsive. Once I arrived, Armaye was there to greet me and bring me back to the hotel before a week of hiking in the Simien mountains and then the Bale mountains. I never once felt unsafe and his team was beyond caring and attentive in both the North and the South. Armaye and his team made this trip so memorable and I have so much respect for the people of Ethiopia and my time spent in such a beautiful place. It’s important to me that I used a local company as well, not only do they know the land better then anyone, but all the proceeds go directly to the people that need it most. I highly recommend Armaye Tours, and if I visit Ethiopia again in the future it will absolutely be through his company.

Very knowledgeable wildlife guide

I spent a week with Armaye visiting various parks, reserves and wetlands in November 2022, primarily looking for birds and mammals and taking photos. He was very professional, capable, a good communicator and able to spot and identify birds and mammals very well which made for a productive week. His English is excellent and his cook and driver were also excellent. Aside from wildlife, he has a broad knowledge of history, culture, politics, etc so and excellent all round guide.

Very competent and professional

My wife and I have just returned from a week in Ethiopia. Our trip was organised by Armaye Tours and we could not have been more satisfied. From the initial enquiry until we were safely back home, Armaye communicated quickly, clearly and accurately. We felt in very safe hands. It was our first visit to Ethiopia so we kept it short but we will surely be back to see more of this beautiful country. Our interest is birds and we asked Armaye to put together a brief but full itinerary. He recommended three night in the Bale mountains and two at Lake Langano. He certainly knows what he’s talking about because the birds were sensational. We had a driver and a guide and both spoke excellent English and were really good company. Additional guides with local knowledge were waiting for us both in the mountains and at the lake. I was particularly impressed that everything was paid for. There were no surprises and the only time we needed to use money was for tips. Excellent organisation, clear and timely communication and a real personal touch. I recommend Armaye Tours highly.

Excellent tour. Armaye delivered everything they promised and more.

This was a customized tour billed as focusing on wildlife photography, but it included so much more. In 3 weeks we did see a lot of wildlife, especially birds, but also a number of cities. The drivers, especially Ermi, were very knowledgeable and friendly. I especially liked the flexibility to adjust our schedule on the fly. The price was very reasonable, particularly since we stayed in some of the best hotels in the country. I highly recommend Armaye Tours. Note: The only thing I found annoying has nothing to do with Armaye. Apparently the Ethiopian government requires all tours to use local guides everywhere. In national parks this is often an armed scout. In the cities the local guide can be useful, but the scouts often just tag along and add little or no value. But of course they all expect tips at the end. This appears to be just to provide work for more people, since Ethiopia has a very high unemployment rate.

Best Travel Agent Ever

There are no words to express my gratitude for Armaye, who turned a last minute, impulsive decision to visit ethiopia into a once in a lifetime experience. In just a couple of days he made all the necessary arrangements for me to visit both the southern and the northern parts of the country. Armaye knows how to "read" people, so that he and his network of amazing guides and drivers throughout Ethiopia can help not just visit, but most importanlty feel and experience this unique country. Perfect organization, the hotels were very good and clean, and the drivers very professional. Armaye organized the tour only for 2 people and we visited very interesting places in the North and in the south of the country. Ethiopia has been a very nice discovery.

Armaye Ethiopia Tours was the first of three agencies to respond to our request for a quote for a tour in northern Ethiopia and was extremely responsive in addressing questions and issues, and flexible in coordinating our tour. We enjoyed being able to converse with a knowledgeable local guide in each site we visited and were especially impressed with the smooth coordination among them as we traveled. Each site we visited was amazing in its own way. In one relatively short trip we were able to enjoy astounding landscapes, see a little of the way of life in different rural and urban areas, and learn about some of the rich history and culture in Ethiopia.

Responsive and reliable tour operator and fun too!

Armaye was so responsive to our request for a very last minute request for a trip to Ethiopia. He answered quickly, responded to questions quickly and designed our tour to our preferences. I was a bit nervous about travelling to Ethiopia where we knew we would be "off grid" but it was very safe and the people we met were very friendly. Armaye was our guide too - very informative and answered all my husband's inquisitive questions about culture, traditions, food. Aman was our driver and also comes highly recommended. Aman is an expert driver both on major roads and offroad. WE saw many animals specific to Ethiopia that we hadn't seen before, including lots of Ethiopian golden wolves. The 3-day tour in Afar was excellent value.
