Dream Safari

Today we're finishing our Kenya Safari with Sauterland Africa Tours. Our entire family (aged 3 to 70) was with them. We couldn't have dreamed of a better family trip. We got the company on a recommendation and will continue to recommend them! A huge thank you to Suleiman from Tanzania, with whom I arranged every detail of the trip. Our drivers (guide) in Kenya were outstanding – Dan and Harun, thank you! We'll never forget this wonderful adventure. They were very friendly and helpful. They always answered our questions and shared lots of interesting facts. I hope we'll be able to return under their care, this time to Tanzania!

A tour worth every penny!!

My husband and I came across Saunterland as we were searching for our safari in Kenya. We have been in a safari before in South Africa through another operator in 2008. This 4 days safari in Kenya exceeded our expectations by far. James was propmt with emails and Patrick was a guide with a hawks eye. He could spot animals from a distance and explained about them with expertise. The Ashnil facility in Masai Mara and Sopa lodge in Naivasha were dope. We opted for the safari land cruiser.It was clean and well maintained. Obviously I would recommend Saunterland for the memorable safari experience

2 day safari Masai Mara

Great Tour of Masai Mara. Excellent communication with James from day 1. Day of the safari, Mike our guide was punctual picking us up from our residence in Nairobi. Mike was pleasant and made sure that we saw the animals as close as possible during the game drive. Overall, enjoyable and well organized safari.

Absolutely incredible service and safari

If you’re looking for a safari trip operator, we couldn’t recommend Saunterland highly enough. My husband and I are just back from a trip of a lifetime and there’s nothing we would have changed, absolutely perfect - and that’s a great part down to Saunterland’s dedicated help in organising and high level of service while with them. Our trip, initially organised for the summer of 2020 was impacted by the COVID travel ban, but Saunterland were great with keeping in contact through out the 18 months, offering either a refund or rescheduled trip. Saunterland proved to be trustworthy and committed whatever our choice in the circumstances. The attentive emails from our personal planner James, were always fast, thorough and responsive to our requests. He was able to advise if we had a question or needed local knowledge and was adaptable in our changing requirements. Ken was our exclusive guide for our entire trip and we were so thankful for this - Ken studied tourism and Kenyan wildlife and carries now 15yrs of experience touring the national parks. His knowledge of the wildlife, where to find them - even the illusive animals and their behaviours were unparalleled. We found that Ken is well known for his expertise across the Masai Mara, our hotel manager and other guides advised he was particularly knowledgable and we were very fortunate to have him as our guide. We travelled far and wide across the plains and into the lesser-visited corners to watch every animal we could wish for. Ken is so familiar with every every twist and turn of the Mara, as well as the individual prides/herds/animals, you’re absolutely in safe hands. Moreover, Ken has a photographers eye, which means he will always set up in a position that gives you the best lighting, angle, view and background that he possibly can. His attention detail and ensuring our trip was nothing short of fabulous was from start to finish, from airport collection, driving Nairobi and the national park, at our camp site and on other excursions, plus Ken would always ensure any food we ate were free from my intolerances. A truly 5 star trip, thank you Saunterland!!!!!

Just perfect from the first to the last step.

This was my very first direct booking in Kenia just per Mail/Whatsapp and I never regretted it. Just can recommend James, who was very patient and fair within these COVID-Days with postponing, replaning and rebooking. He always had good ideas and kept contact all the way long. Simon was a very profound guide in Masai Mara - Thank you. His knowledge and driving skills were amazing. Communication was always perfect and friendly. Btw, Saunterland was not the cheapest offer but we always felt safe and secure and we respect the service. 5*-Rating!

Everything went very well. We enjoyed our safari so much. We had the best driver/guide Dan, he is a gem. We saw and experienced more than we expected- thank you! Amboseli was great, Tsavo was ok. The car was good and spacious. The firm was trustworthy and information given was clear and in time. We really recommend this for anyone.

A great getaway from Nairobi! The Sopa lodge is picturesque and friendly with great service. Saunterland tours delivered a great guide, door to door service and good communication before, during and after the trip. We will definitely be using them again.

The two of us stumbled upon Saunterland, and we are so happy for the trip that transpired. We only have pros to include in the review. Most importantly, James, the owner, was great at communicating. He ensured that we knew what was happening in the planning stages, and during the trip. We really felt well taken care of. Saunterland was very flexible and accommodating. During the safari, our guide, Patrick, couldn’t have been a better match. He was funny, helpful, knowledgeable, and a skilled off and on-road driver. Our trip was over four days. We spent two full days in Masai Mara, a full day at Lake Naivasha, and a day exploring Nairobi. We had so much fun, and we felt like the trip was exactly tailored to us.

One of a kind experience!!

The safari in Uganda and Kenya has been great. My brother did safari with Saunterland in 2021 and referred me to them. I can attest its a great team starting from James handling the mails, Derrick who guided us in Uganda and Simon our guide in Kenya. Definitely I would travel with them again in future.

Amazing safari experience

Reached out to the Saunterland team for a 4 day safari in Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara. The planning was good, prompt response and good recommendation of hotels. We stayed at the Castle Mara and Sarova Lion Hill lodge at Lake Nakuru. The game drives were comprehensive and can't thank enough Ken our guide for the good job.

A real taste of Amboseli National Park

I made a day safari to Amboseli with my wife to commemorate our 4th anniversary, thanks to James for making it successful. We contacted James two weeks to the safari day and he was quick to respond to my emails. Then there was John, the guy who was our tour guide, very conversant with animals, their behaviours and it was so epic seeing Mt.Kilimanjaro.It was a great day to us thumbs up to Saunterland Africa Tours!!

We went on a day tour to Ambosoli Park with Saunterland Africa Tours and from beginning to end they were professional and answered all my questions in a timely manner. The driver was very knowledgeable and kind. He knew all the good places to see animals. He asked us in the start what animals we wanted to see and mapped the drive around them. 1000000% recommend this group and will for sure use them again when we come back
