Kalahari Adventure.

A special custom adventure (it was so, so much more than a safari!) for my wife and I. Part accompanied self-drive in 4X4 Hiluxes and partly in Wild Planet's customised VW Truck. Apart from the usual first class Wild Planet food, service and Wildlife spotting we had some major desert adventures, the highlight was Ryan Organising the 4X4 trail in the Kalagadi for the morning of my wife's Birthday, she loved driving those dunes - then to cap it we saw lots of Meerkats (very close!) - her favourites. Personally I loved watching the lions hunting in Pilanesburg and found the desert scenery absolutely breath taking. We saw so many different species and had such a wonderful time that we have made our minds up to travel with Wild Planet again and again. (This is the third trip we have done with Ryan and they just keep getting better.) If you want a tailor made Safari with the most knowledgeable guides I have met go no further than Ryan and Thale of Wild Planet.

5 days, 4 nights custom Kruger safari

Incredible safari experience: - Very quick and easy communication with Thale throughout the entire booking process - Chris and Lungi were amazing guides with great "bush eyes" (as they call them) to spot even small animals and animals far away from our vehicle. They also demonstrated fantastic knowledge of plants, all the animals and the ecosystem as a whole - Lungi's cooking on a braai was phenomenal; we definitely did not expect to eat this well on our safari! - Accommodation was comfy and big enough, and we definitely recommend trying out Tamboti Tented Camp instead of just Skukuza or Satara. We would definitely book again with Wild Planet Safari

Personal, knowledgeable, accommodating and extremely friendly.

We were a group of 4, visiting Kruger (two of us have been many times before). Ryan from Wild Planet organised our trip perfectly. He was very knowledgeable and professional, as well as being outgoing, friendly and fun to be with. Nothing was too much trouble. The whole experience was not only enjoyable and memorable, but very good value as well. We would most definitely recommend Wild Planet to others, and will most likely be using him again ourselves.

Wonderful Trip!

We had a wonderful time touring Kruger National Park with Wild Planet Safari. We did an extended north to south tour and our guides, Eric and Ryan were great. Hope was our cook and his meals were wonderful! Thale took care of all the administrative details and was wonderful to work with. We hope to be able to do this again in the future!

Amzing trip, life time experience

This is the second time we have Ryan and Thale as our guide in South Africa, it's truly lifetime experience, they went out of their way to arrange our trip, we saw so many wild animals, we stayed in places which way beyond our expectations, the food, the crew, everything is so perfect. We'll come back with our friends again. We had a large group, 18 people in total, 10 kids age from 8-13. Everyone is so satisfied, thank you Ryan and Thale!

They love what they do! and give an a spectacular service

If we had to describe the experience in a few words, it is with a "They love what they do". That makes your trip perfect. Everything very well coordinated. Anton was an incredible guide, it shows that he loves his work, he shows it minute by minute, always very clear and very concerned about us. He took us to wonderful viewpoints in Kruger, which it seems that only he knows. We do not speak English very very well, and Anton talked to us slower so we could understand. This is how we communicate perfectly. Ben (the assistant) was also great, very neat when cooking, kind, worried ... great. The food was always delicious!! Anton and Ben were even more excited than we were to see animals. It is evident that they enjoy it and that they make an effort so that we also enjoy it. The service we received was of the highest quality. They have a 10 out of 10. Thanks to all team from, Wild Planet Safaris. They gave us a great safari.

Excellent 5-day Kruger Tour!

It was a great experience seeing the Elephants, Lions, Giraffes, Zebra, Antelope, and others in their natural habitat during the 5-day Kruger Tour. The booking, payments, and communications were done via email; and all my requirements and expectations were met. My wife and I, and her friend were part of the tour; and we were met at the airport by 2 of Wild Planet Safari's staff. Since it was just the 3 of us with the 2 guides, we had the flexibility when and where to stop; and what sites to prioritize. The service, lodging, and food were great; and the best part was an accommodation at an B&B lodging that looked and felt like a 5 star hotel (part of the package). The hosts were great as well! A well thought and planned African experience

Our tour started in Johannesburg and went up through Kruger and Zimbabwe finishing at Victoria Falls Our family 4 had a driver/spotter and chef/spotter throughout Kruger- with their expertise we saw everything and had great time. Zimbabwe we had one person doing both jobs - bar no electricity we had a ball. Highlights being walking with rhinos, matapo hills and close experiences with lion and leopard. Food better than expected.

Amaziong Personalized safari experience at an affordable price.

I would like the owners Ryan and Thale for organizing the tour and arranging the bookings and transfers, and thank my guide Chris and his assistant Ben for their great service and responsiveness. The tour took me to several camps in different areas in Kruger NP allowing for viewing different habitats and different assemblage of animals. This tour enables you of having your own guide and tailor made the drives to your own interests for example we found a leopard on an impala kill and spent two hours watching him and on another drive we encountered two lionesses with 6 small cubs and could spend an hour with them as well; this is hard to do in with a large group with many participants. I would use Wild Planet Safari again in my future trips to Kruger.

Accomodating, Friendly, Fun, & Knowledgeable!

We chose a four day private safari. Our guide Chris was fantastic! He searched out what we wanted to see and I think he was more disappointed than us when we didn't fine an animal! Hope was an excellent "chef" on the safari and kept us very well fed with the tastiest meals. Both Hope and Chris had wonderful personalities and we'd be honored to call each friend! This was an experience of a lifetime that far exceeded our expectations and left us feeling very spoiled! We booked this less than a month before our safari date and there were a few miscommunications through email, but everything was resolved VERY quickly! We would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a budget friendly awesome safari!!!

Three weeks we never will forget

Thank you so much for the three greatest adventures weeks we have had. We traveled through South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana. We saw every animal we could ever dream of. Beautiful sceneries, places and fantastic national pearls. The guides from Wild Planet Safari, Thale and Ryan, made the trip unforgetable. The knowlage about every animal, flora, fauna and places were explizit. Ryan could spot a animal from a great distance and Thale would make up the best dishes. Since the trip was a personal trip with the only two of us, we were able to take full advantage of our guides and were able to stop when we wanted, get the game drives we wanted and last but not least get the photos we wanted. The food was delicious, variated and tasty. We still talk about all the different delicious sausages we had every day in addition to dinner. We had all the great camping sites with comforting tents. We espesially remembering the campsite at Mapungubwe where the bushbuck walk next to us whilst we had breakfast, and the monkeyes with some cheeky monkey business. If you want a tailor made and personal trip, with guides that have the knowlage we would love to recommend Wild Planet Safari with Thale and Ryan!! Thank you so much for the tour.

A wild safari

This was the second time I was on a safari with Wild Planet Safari and its guide Ryan but the first for my wife. We were on a 6 nights/7 days tour in Kruger Like last time we had a really adventurous time, we saw all the big 5 and a lot of other cool animals such as cheetah, wild dogs, large spotted genet, hyena and honey badger! Ryan knows his way around Kruger and where to find all the animals you want to see! All the meals we were served during our tour was excellent, he is a real braai-master! Thanks to Ryan and Thale for this experience, it was awesome! We will be back, that's for sure!!!

Very professional - punctual, efficient, helpful and well organized; exceeded our expectations.

We did a seven day private camping safari with Chris and Goodwill. They were extremely well organized and always punctual. During setup, knockdown and cooking we were generally on game drives or at a restaurant having lunch - very efficient. Chris was excellent at spotting animals and explaining their behavior. They both went out of their way to make this an amazing experience for us. We saw virtually all available animals including wild dogs and cheetahs. The food was good and plentiful. We went to four different camps that allowed us to experience different habitats and a wide variety of animals. The booking process with Thale, including hints on where to stay before the safari and how to get to Kruger, was very helpful. Everything was as promised with no additional unexpected costs.

Very Professional and really personable, Wild Safari exceeded expectations at every level.

We really felt well taken care of from initial email to final fond farewell. There was no detail too small and no request too large, that weren't dealt with cheerfully and easily. We had zero issues arise on tour, in large part due to careful planning and attention to detail from the staff. I feel confident that had any issues arose from circumstances beyond their control, these would have been dealt with swifly and effectively. Experience and knowledge shine through every interaction. We couldn't be happier with our choice and happily recommend Wild Safari to friends and family.

You Are In Expert Hands!

We recently finished the 11 Day Kruger North to South Private trip and had a great time. Ryan and Lungisani are absolutely expert guides and a real pleasure to spend time with. We enjoyed watching them compete with each other to see who could spot the most Big Five animals, and we were the beneficiaries! We were able to observe up close all of the animals we wished, with the only exception being a cheetah, which are very rare. Ryan is a birding expert and spotted an incredible number of birds for us to photograph. I cannot emphasize the value of their knowledge of animals, plants and birds. Later, during our African vacation we heard ridiculous statements from so-called guides who were spouting falsehoods. We confirmed Ryan's information via Google. You will have a great time with these fine guides!

Extremely Enjoyable 3 day - 2 night Safari

The communication throughout the process from the initial enquiry right through to the day before we were collected was quick and detailed. We were given a number of options of which areas to explore and different accommodation types prior to booking and everything was organised for us by Ryan and Thale. We flew in from the UK and stayed overnight in a hotel close to the OR Tambo airport, Ryan then collected us from the hotel the following morning and we drove to Kruger (with a stop off halfway for 15 minutes), arriving at Skukuza just after 1pm. When we arrived at Kruger mid afternoon, Ryan sent us off to grab some lunch whilst he went and checked us into our accommodation. When we returned around 2.30pm our luggage was already in the room and we were then took on an afternoon safari, seeing a large number of animals and birds. Evening meal was BBQ steak and salad cooked outside the accommodation by Ryan and his assistant which was excellent and we sat chatting and drinking the local wines under the stars. Morning 2 consisted of an early start where we saw most of the Big 5 and Ryan cooked us bacon and eggs breakfast at a picnic area overlooking the river, watching the monkeys play. A good long day of exploring, seeing many of the animals and birds. We then returned to the camp mid afternoon where we were left to chill out and top up the stock of beers and wine. Again, a BBQ evening meal outside the accommodation where we were given ostrich sausages and a local veg dish which was good washed down with some local brew. We were then surprised to find out that Ryan had booked us on a night safari, a nice touch. We completed our Big 5 list on this night safari, seeing a leopard walking around the park, sadly we didn't take a camera. Day 3 we again took an early morning safari, checked out of the accommodation and took a drive back to OR Tambo airport ready for our flight down to Cape Town. The service we received from Ryan, Thale and the rest of the team was personal yet professional, and Ryan's knowledge of the animals and birds (mating habits/diets etc) was excellent and added to the experience we got from the trip. I would certainly contact Wild Planet Safaris next time I am looking at exploring southern Africa's wildlife regions and would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone looking to experience it.
