I had a great time with Wild Planet Safari!

I had a great experience with Wild Planet Safari! Adrian was our guide during 4 days in a tour to the Kruger Park. He is very friendly, drives and cooks very well and knows everything about the animals. We had great time and strongly recommend Adrian and the Wild Planet Safari!

Awesome safari!

First of all, we really had a good time! Chris and Lungi are great guides: we’ve spotted lots of animals thanks to them. Also we learned a lot from them about the flora & fauna in the Krugerpark. We even saw a wild dog and a cheetah! :-) The food was perfectly prepared by Lungi. He thought of every detail. It was delicious! Chris and Lungi were always on time. They were very helpful and their information was clear. They did all the preparations very well. It felt like a real holiday :-) Chris and Lungi form a good team. We hope that they will keep up the good work! At the moment we can’t think of any improvements.

Exceeded my high expectations

My partner and I completed a 6 day Kruger Safari with Wild Planet Safari in February 2019. I couldn't have prepared myself for how much of an amazing experience it was. I had modest expectations of the amount of animals we would see in the park but we saw everything and several times over the 6 days. Ryan and Lungisani knew just where to find the animals and their spotting ability is very impressive. The entire trip was great from start to finish, accommodation is great, meals are great, safari drives are amazing, Ryan and Lungisani were terrific guides and Thale is excellent and responsive to your booking needs when planning. I have some incredible photos and memories forever from this trip and it has motivated me to see more of Kruger and of Southern Africa with Wild Planet Safari.

First safari, great experience!

This was our first safari and we're glad we went in a toured guide, it made the difference having someone driving, spotting and explaining about the animals. Wild Planet Safari provided us with a private tour, which was also great as we were able to stop as desired and do things in our own time. Paul was our guide and he was great, had a lot of knowledge about the animals and seemed to really love his job. Benjamin was our cook and he was also great, cooked good food and had a good eye for spotting animals. The only minor issue we had was about dietary restrictions, one person was vegetarian and the other was not, but the food was planned as if both were vegetarian... Anyhow, it was a great tour, we spotted many animals, stayed in very comfortable places inside the Kruger Park, which was excellent as we could really enjoy our time inside the park, and had good company. I highly recommend Wild Planet Safari, just be sure to double check what's included in your tour and to ensure all the tiny details as the food thing I mentioned before. It was great and now I'm hooked on safaris!

Incredible 4 Days in Kruger

The experience with Wild Planet Safari exceeded all expectations. Communication leading up to our trip was easy and Thale was always quick to reply with helpful information. Coordinating our airport transfers was seemless and Ryan was right on time when our flight arrived. The safari itself was amazing. Ryan and Issac’s experience along with Lungisani’s sharp eyes allowed us to see more wildlife than we even imagined. This included the big 5 and more. The food was unique and delicious at every meal. We even asked one the recipes to try at home. The accommodations were exactly as described and were quite comfortable throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend Wild Planet to anyone looking for a wonderful safari experience in Kruger.

Broadly, the Safari was as described on the website. Minor adjustments here and there based on weather/availability etc. Adrian is a terrific guide who's extremely knowledgeable and is also a good cook. Lungisani and Benjamin were also really helpful. Lungisani is pretty good at spotting animals from a moving car. We were able to view the Big 5 (leopard on the night drive conducted by Kruger) as well as many other prominent fauna in the park. All in all, it was a great experience.

Fantastic

Thale and Ryan. Thank you for giving us a fantastic experience in South-Africa. We were taken care of from landing in Johannesburgh till we left the country 11 days later. We visited places like Pilgrims Rest, Talana museum in Dundee and Drakensberg mountains. In Kruger Park we were driven around to find animals we had never seen before outside the zoo. We think Ryan know every road in the park and where to find the different animals, and he know everything about the animals, birds and flowers. And - the food , if Thale and Ryan wantet to do something else, they can start a restaurant. South-Africa, history, culture and nature fill our mind when we are back in Norway, memories that will follow us the rest of our lives. Thanks for a fantastic stay in South-Africa. Randi og Erik

Wonderful trip with amazing personalized service!

Ryan and Thale were great from the very beginning of our trip planning. They were very responsive to email and provided good feedback about how to organize the trip we wanted and get the best out of our experience in Kruger Park. We booked almost a year in advance, and spent a wonderful 7 day safari staying in secluded bush camps within the park. The safari van was comfortable and game drives were fun and engaging, even for our 7 year old. Ryan always had interesting facts to share about the animals, plants, and birds we were seeing. Ryan and his assistant, Lungsani, made our trip a true holiday for us! They skillfully prepared all of our meals and took care of every detail. They were fun and engaging to hang out with and we feel like we've made life long friends! Kruger Park itself far surpassed our expectations! The facilities at the park were clean and well maintained, and the animals, well we are still in awe of all the animals we saw and photos we took. It truly was the trip of a lifetime!

You know that you have dreamed about experience the wild life in Africa since you where a little child. Wild Planet Safari makes your dreams come true, and MORE! I am so grateful for every minutes, hours and days we spent together. I have learned so much about Africa, the wild life, animals, trees, flowers etc. etc. And we got to see so much animals!! It was like a dream. I will never forget this trip. And I will never forget your great service, good food, fantastic game drives and that you did everything to make this the best holiday EVER!! I'll be back!! :-)

Amazing experience in Kruger!

We had the most incredible 5-day safari in Kruger National Park, and I can't recommend Wild Planet Safari enough! From the start, Thale was fantastic, helping us with booking and answering all our questions. Our guide, Chris, was wonderful. His knowledge of the park and its wildlife was unmatched, and his experience ensured we saw all of the Big 5! Chris made sure we were at the gates early every morning to maximize our chances of spotting animals like lions, who are more active at dawn. Our chef, Goodwill, was also great. The meals were delicious. It was fun to eat breakfast at one of the picnic sites in the bush each morning. In addition to the daily game drives, we also went on a night drive and a morning bush walk, both of which were very fun and added to the whole experience. The entire Wild Planet team made sure the trip was tailored to our preferences. Highly recommend going on safari with Wild Planet!

custom Safari for 7 days, beyond expectations!

We are a family of 4 and wanted to go for a safari in South Africa. I wrote to a few safari tour organizers and Thale was the one who responded with a personalized note. We followed up with her and she organized a customized trip for our family at a very decent price. She sent us all the info we needed to get ready for our experience. 2 guides came to pick us up at the airport and we spend 7 days together. They were just amazing people: professional, kind, funny, knowledgeable. They did everything they could and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our experience. We saw plenty of animals! We are still talking about the amazing chicken curry they cooked for us. Pictures from our trip are covering the walls of our house. We all have beautiful memories. It was beyond expectations.

Absolutely amazing, unbelievable experience!

Right from the beginning Thale and Ryan were always available to talk to and answer any question I had. After we had booked our safari, I had let them know that I would be spending a night in Johannesburg by myself (my husband was meeting me 2 weeks later for our safari). Ryan graciously offered to pick me up from the airport and let me stay at his place and then take me back to the airport the next morning to catch my flight. This was absolutely above and beyond! So unbelievably generous and kind. The actual safari itself was even better than my husband or I could have imagined. Ryan knew exactly where to take us to see the animals we wanted to see and even once we spotted them he knew the right spot to stop to get the good picture! The food was amazing, real home cooked meals on safari, which is much more than we were expecting (we expecting camping food). He even had some new meat for us to try (like ostrich and wild boar). The whole experience was absolutely amazing and we would 110% book with Wild Planet Safari again and again!

Exactly what we wanted and needed

We did an 8N/9D safari in June. The original plan was to go in 2021 but because of Covid everything was postponed. Thale was very understanding and was happy to accommodate us this year, 2022, instead. She also organized us a custom made trip where we skipped the beach but did only safari parks: We stayed 1 night in Blyde Canyon, 5 in Kruger and 2 in Hluhluwe. We had two guides: Chris for Blyde and Kruger and Trompie for Hluhluwe. Two completely different people for the two different parts of our trip. Both were very knowledgeable and gave tons of information, making us feel like we could be safari guides ourselves by the end. They also provided us with great meals. I loved the braai, the braaibroodje and the Durban Curry. Chris even surprised us with a typical African dish called Pap in South Africa or Sadza in Zimbabwe, when we told we wanted to eat as African as possible. I knew I was going to love South(ern) Africa but I fell head over heals. Wild Planet was fantastic in helping out reaching this feeling. I wish I could go back tomorrow! Thank you very much for making this all possible

Delightful young man, full of knowledge and an obvious love of "Kruger" animals & birds.

What an amazing experience we and 4 other "Aussies" had visiting "Kruger", in March 2018 under the wonderful leadership of Ryan & Thale & their very delightful African assistant Langi. An exceptional young couple who were a pleasure to spend time with around the campfire enjoying the delicious meals prepared by Langi. Ryan is a book of knowledge, in all areas whether it be animals, birds or the area we traveled in. He knew exactly the places to visit, and the right time of day to do so to find all the animals & birds we sighted. A faultless 5 days way beyond our expectations. Would recommend them to all thinking of visiting "Kruger".

My partner and I absolutely loved our 5-day experience with Wild Planet Safaris. We started with four days on safari in two different camps in Kruger, followed by a day of exploring the Panorama route. Thale (Wild Planet coordinator) advised us on every aspect of the transportation, activities, logistics, and options. Thale responded very quickly and professionally to our questions and requests while planning the trip. Before and during the trip, she helped incorporate everything we wanted into our itinerary. Our guides, Chris and Sani, drove us on morning, afternoon, and evening game drives and shared their incredible knowledge of the bush. They tailored the drives to our interests, and took us to the best locations to see rare game. Because of them and their knowledge, we saw a huge number of animals and birds. Highlights included baby cheetahs, giraffes, hippos, hyenas, vultures, lions (male, female, and cubs), and elephants galore! They even took us to the rare sighting of an elephant carcass with predators feeding at dawn. They also set up a night drive and a morning bush walk with the Kruger park rangers at our request. Both were incredible! The service was excellent. They made sure we were comfortable with prepared meals four-times a day. We chose to camp during the trip, and they set up and packed camp quickly, allowing us to maximize time enjoying animals and exploring. They cooked almost every meal, and we especially loved the freshly barbecued bush brai, shared family-style. Sani's curry was a huge hit after a long day of adventure. The five day package was great value, and we were lucky to have such an accommodating guide to plan our customized tour. We had a completely private tour experience. We slept in comfortable and warm cots in spacious tents, with electricity provided. I'm 6'5" and could stand up straight in the tent. All of the camp restrooms and showers were clean and well-maintained. Almost all meals were included in our package, and we spent very little money on the occasional lunch during travel days. Our guides Chris and Sani were incredibly respectful and we enjoyed getting to know them and their backgrounds. They both were extremely gracious to us, helping us have the best experience possible. They were attentive to the smallest details, ensuring we ate with a table cloth and tailored the menu to accommodate our dietary restrictions. We felt very safe during the entire trip, both in terms of security, animals, and Covid 19. We would absolutely use Wild Planet Safari again in the future and have already recommended them to our friends and family.

Good experience

Ryan was very prompt in replying to my emails and very accommodating of our requests to customise our 15 day tour of eastern South Africa. He was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and particularly the birdlife of the areas we visited. The accommodation he booked for us lived up to and sometimes surpassed our expectations. It was a combination of lodges and luxury tents. Overall we had a very memorable and enjoyable safari tour and I would certainly recommend this company.
