Park fees for nearby Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater range $60-$82 per park. June to October (dry season) offers the best conditions with minimal rainfall, cooler temperatures, and easier access to hunting grounds. July-August sees peak tourism but also excellent wildlife viewing during the Serengeti migration. December-February is warm but wet, making roads muddy; however, December sees an influx of holiday travelers. March-May and September-November are shoulder seasons with fewer crowds and better cultural interactions, though some roads may be challenging.

While the Hadzabe experience focuses on culture, combined safaris to nearby parks feature all Big Five: lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos (in Ngorongoro Crater). Serengeti hosts over 1 million wildebeest during the May-July migration, plus zebras, giraffes, and countless antelope species. Tarangire is famous for large elephant herds and baobab trees. Lake Eyasi attracts thousands of flamingos during dry season. Bird enthusiasts can spot over 500 species across the region.

Fly into Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), 335 km from Lake Eyasi, or Arusha Airport (ARK), 120 km away. From Arusha, drive 3-4 hours via Mto wa Mbu on unpaved roads requiring 4WD vehicles — most operators arrange transfers. Alternatively, charter flights from Arusha directly to airstrips near Lake Eyasi take 45 minutes. All major safari operators offer airport pickups and transfers as part of package deals.
