A FAMILY DREAM SAFARI IN KENYA
Last year, I went on an 8-day safari in Kenya with my wife and 3 kids, who weree visiting the country for the first time. After identifying three Kenya-based tour operators on the Internet and corresponding with them, we chose Across the wild tours and Safaris. Our itinerary was: Maasai Mara the Aberdares (Treetops)-Lake Nakuru. The company tour operations manager Fina, was very helpful in answering all our questions and, unlike the other operators that we contacted, she was most willing to organize the trip in accordance with our wishes. A few days to our safari, we met Fina who personally came to meet us on our arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International airport Nairobi, she was happy to meet us and we had a little chat before and we felt at home with her presence with us. She was indeed very welcoming and professional, which reassured us even more! Our accommodation – a mix of lodges, hotels and tents – was very good: the rooms were spacious and clean, the food was fresh and delicious, and staff made us feels very much at home. The tour guide/driver, Amos, with whom we naturally spent most of the time, was always punctual, professional and helpful. As a good storyteller, he shared his deep knowledge of the wildlife, geography and people of the areas that we visited, and answered our many questions patiently. We saw the "big five" and many other creatures’ great and small and in the parks, he did not always follow the well-trodden path, so we often spotted an animal or situation that everyone was hoping for. Amos would then radio the information to his fellow tour guides/drivers to share it with the other tourists. We are thankful to Across the wild tours and Safaris for enabling us to experience a most amazing safari! For my wife and kids, it was a life-changing introduction to the wild: from being extremely scared as we walked to our cottage from our lodge's dining area on our first evening in Samburu, to struggling to get back to his routine several weeks after the safari – because of all the wonderful memories! We were also pleased that the choice of vehicle we took a land cruiser 4 X4 was in perfect condition and well maintained, this are some little things that built our confidence with the choice of the tour operator we selected that is Across the wild tours and Safaris and we wish them well for sure and once again we say thank you. We are pleased to recommend this company to anyone wanting to go on a meaningful safari in Kenya. Stephen.

A GREAT EXPERIENCE OF KENYA
Kenya is so wonderful, but without Across The Wild it would not be more amazing. These people are just awesome. This was our third visit to Africa but our first safari in Kenya. We were so excited to finally touch down on Kenyan land. The good memorable experiences were so many. We were lucky to see all of the "Big Five" plus many other animals during our safari and also enjoyed some close encounters with them. What an adventure! Our guide was also in good contact with others on the radio, which resulted in faster to get to wonderful sightings and spots. The experiences were beautifully balanced. He was very experienced and knowledgeable. He would always ask us what we especially hoped to see during the game drives and make sure to go as deep to the parks to find their hideouts. We were very lucky and saw everything we had hoped to, and even more. To be honest, there were so many memorable moments. The wildlife, the guides' knowledge and the attention to details helped us a lot. Everyone in the family can't just think of any other way this trip could have been better. We had great time, fun and enjoyed the company of all the people we met, we learnt a lot, came back with many good memories and photos. We shall definitely recommend Across The Wild Tours and Safaris everywhere we go and we hope to use them again if we return to East Africa as we found out that they also operate in all countries in the East Africa. Also to note that I was very impressed when the tour manager of Across the Wild gave us a cell phone with talk time in it just incase we needed to communicate with them we could easily access, this was a gesture that went a long way and that was a fantastic idea.

Every day more exciting than the day before!!
Across the Wild Tour and Safari provided a well planned, executed safari! From the beginning the drivers Dedan, David, Ian were so professional yet very caring, we hd different groups and yet the whole trip was geared to all of us!!! Going in to the Samburu Reserve was more than I imagined! The beautiful animals met us right in the roadway … so magnificent ! Game drives did not disappoint; we were given time to enjoy the animals in their habitat.. pictures just cannot capture the beauty of a lion protecting its prey; or sitting with their young just gazing out; or the baby elephant that is playing; the newborn giraffe no more than two days old.; the rhinos in the water! Each day was better than the one before ! The drivers made sure our stops were safe … lots of outdoor adaptions took place! The overnight lodging, we stayed in different areas and each was unique.. tented camp was just awesome! The safari was so much more than I expected and it was due to Across the Wild tour and Safari … and the drivers! I hope to return to see my new family. I will not forget being able to be so close yet safe from the animals… unbelievable trip from start to finish!! Thank you

Excellent Kenya Safari
We all thoroughly enjoyed our 9-day Kenya safari with Dedan. He was a wonderful driver and guide. It's magical how he got us to just the right spot before the animals appeared, and amazing how knowledgeable he is about all the plants, animals and geography of the area. The company was very easy to work with and all the arrangements went smoothly. Our accommodations were excellent, especially the tented cabins inside the parks. I highly recommend this company.

A wonderful safari experience ever!
''Our first safari to Kenya and all turned out so well than we could ever have imagined, it was a once in a lifetime experience. we were a little more careful with choosing our safari provider being our first time in Kenya and on a wildlife safari we never wanted to miss out a thing or get disappointed. At first we had like 4 operators we were in contact with. But then the communication with Across The Wild was so perfect and quick that enabled us get all the information we needed in good time and so we felt confident about them and decided we shall book our safari tour with them. Every question was quickly answered and they gave us a lot of information about the tour and even helped us choose the best destinations and hotels since we really did not know much about Kenya and where to go but they made us even more eager, so we knew exactly what we were about to expect. Our driver guide Joseph was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We could not believe how he managed to locate those leopards in Masai Mara! We surely could not have asked for a better safari. I traveled with my husband and he was so excited being his first time in Africa that he even promised he will come back and choose Across The Wild Tours and Safaris again! I recommend this company to anyone traveling to Kenya.''

Great Safari!
We booked the 7 days and 6 nights safari of Masai Mara, Naivasha and Amboseli. Our operator host was Across The Wild Tours and Safaris was great from the start. We were picked up on time from the airport and the whole safari experience was simply fantastic. . We saw a lot of animals and all the Big Five. Steve our guide was very good and knowledgeable and drove us safely throughout our trip. Everything was beyond expectations and we would definitely recommend this company as well as the staff.

The safari tour was incredible, we never imagined we would see so much. Fina from Across the Wild was always available if needed. What made an incredible holiday all the better was our safari guide, Kevin. Such an experienced guide with a cracking sense of humor. Once he felt comfortable with our group of four he just added to the laughter. All the lodges/tents we stayed in were exceptional, each for their own reasons. Tsavo West’s watering hole to Maasai Mara hearing hippos in the night, all recommend by Fina. Everything went to plan from picking up from the airport to dropping back off for our journey home. We even requested an extra driver for 2 days at the end of the holiday which was no problem at all. Could not recommend this company more, would certainly travel with them again.

Awesome and unforgettable experience, my family and I can't wait to have such funagain.
My wife and I decided it's time we have a family vacation in Diani, this was mid November 2020. It was a sudden decision and we wanted to leave soon as my wife was to resume work soon and wanted to make happy, you what they say, happy wife happy life :) . I called Across the wild travel and tours manager, Fina, 3 days before the day we intended to travel. With such a short notice we obviously expected some delays or even to be asked if we can travel another day. It was beyond our expectations that in 2 days, tickets and accommodations details were in, all we needed to do is give a go ahead for bookings. The day to day communications and progress of the process was amazing. I didn't call at any point to ask anything because updates were disseminated timely. Came the Travel day and all was set, can't fail to mention the efficient airport picks and drop offs. We flew from Nairobi early afternoon to Ukunda airstrip and voila! we checked in to our hotel, Diani Sea Lodge. Couldn't ask for a more coastal breath taking experience, Kenyan white sandy beaches, breeze and such an oceanic feeling. It was an all inclusive stay, you know what that means. Our 4 nights and 5 days was nothing but epic. The boat rides to watch marine life, fresh coconuts... I could go on and on. Of importance is that it's like Across the wild was with us throughout, it's was very kind of Fina to make sure we settled in our hotel and making sure at the end of 5 days we were back home safely. It has aways been my wish to visit Diani with my family and always imagined how stressful planning and eventually traveling would be stressful, but now I wish I contacted Across the wild tours sooner than later. Couldn't ask for a magical way to wind up a stressful 2020 courtesy of Across the wild tours and more so thank you Fina. Looking forward to doing it allover again and this time to a different destination

Best safari experience with the experts!
Fina from Across the Wild was very responsive and willing to customize all the program to make us happy. We contacted 5-6 agencies and chose Across the Wild because they were the most responsive to all our inquiries and tried to contact us via emails, WhatsApp, and calls to ensure we satisfy with the program. After hundreds of correspondence, we were very happy with the 12-days Kenya & Tanzania + Zanzibar experience we had. All the accommodation were luxury type as agreed in the program. The food was exceptional. Our driver/guide in Kenya was Patrick and the one in Tanzania was Lawrence. Both were very knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend both of them. The safari experience with them were unforgettable. They drove us to all Big Five and many others! and made sure we could get nice photo shots. We learnt a lot about the animal life, Masai culture, Kenya & Tanzania life. Highly recommend Across the Wild Tours to anyone who want to have an experience of a life time.

My wife and I had the absolute best possible experience with "Across the Wild"!!
Where to start?? Fina, the owner of Across the Wild, personally greeted us when we arrived in Nairobi to prepare us for the week. The next morning, we met our guide for the week, David, who told us we were now family. It wasn't just words, he totally meant it. After our week on safari with him, David is now a life-long friend, and we consider him part of our family as well! Thus started our 6-hour journey to Amboseli National Park and experiencing the incredible differences between our cultures. For the next week, David, my wife and I enjoyed talking and learning about life in Kenya, seeing what was similar and different, and educating each other about all of it. It wasn't a one-way street either, David enjoyed learning about it as much as we did. After making it to Amboseli, we ended up arriving at the lodge a bit late because we had one amazing animal experience and another. Little did we know this would be our theme for the week, because David was so skilled at finding animals that other guides did not. I was sharing pictures with our travel agent all week (who booked us with Across the Wild after her own great experience), and she just got more and more jealous!! :) For instance, the first night we found a pride of lionesses and their cubs at a significant distance by seeing some other jeeps. David noticed that the adults walked away to hunt, so he moved us to a road where he thought they'd come out of the brush. Nobody else did this. We ended up with an unforgettable experience watching and photographing two hungry lionesses about 20 feet (6 meters) away from us for at least 10 minutes before anybody else showed up. The next morning, David was the only one who thought to go back out to where we initially saw the lions, and we found their cubs walking down the road. Again, we ended up with an unforgettable experience, watching and photographing the cubs playing in the grass 20-30 feet away from us for 15 minutes...and getting tormented by Guinea fowl of all things!! By the time anybody else showed up, the cubs had already wandered away. These situations happened over and over all week!! 1. A massive 45-year old elephant with tusks almost to the ground named Michael was so close we looked each other in the eye. 2. Sitting in the middle of a large herd of ~30 giraffes watching their babies play and nurse. 3. An even better solo experience with a beautiful lioness in Maasai Mara National Park. 4. Sightings of Jackals that nobody else saw. 5. Chasing away a baboon during lunch one day. 6. Watching baby baboons learn about physics the hard way when they climbed a little tree. 7. Up-close-and-personal experiences with any number of zebra, wart hogs, gazelle, impala, and even many types of birds. David was also incredibly knowledgeable about all the animals and birds. I don't think there was a single question the entire week that he couldn't answer. Plus, he was correctly identifying small birds at 50 meters without binoculars when they just looked like flying shadows! That was just nuts!! I'm not sure how much more I can say about our experience. I think we had literally two negatives all week, and they were very minor. One was a lodge that turned off their generators at night which killed the fan and made the room get hot. That lodge also did not provide mosquito nets unless you asked for them...so we asked for them. The other was the food selection at the lodges. The selection itself was fine, I just wished they served more actual Kenyan dishes for us to try! Purely based on our experience, we'd recommend Across the Wild over other safari companies every time. They were also an amazing value for the money considering everything that was included.

BEST EASTER VACATION
My 2 sons and I had a 4 day group sharing safari with Across the Wild tours & safaris during Easter holiday and it was the most enjoyable experience we had. We had a total number of 6 people in the vehicle but provided our own room with 3 beds. At first we though it will be difficult to travel with strangers but then it turned out to be the opposite we all got along pretty well and it was fun sharing the experience and at the end of safari we were all friends. We really liked the way everything was handled by this company and our guide in the field who was very friendly, knowledgeable and always dedicated to everyone. From day one when they picked us at the airport till the end. I also appreciate the attention that was given for our holiday and how quickly an offer was made. My Children absolutely loved the trip. It was an amazing experience. I am already planning my next holiday with my parents and this time thinking of combining Kenya and Tanzania and I will still use Across the Wild again.

A DREAM ADVENTURE IN KENYA My boyfriend and I took a 7 day safari to Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru and finally Masaai mara, Fina a great lady I must admit who I use to get in touch with her as we were preparing our safari, Tour operator manager at Across the wild Tours and Safaris together with Peter the driverguide picked us up in Nairobi at JKIA. Fina was really happy to see us and gave us some safari hats which cane in really handy during our safari and a mobile phone that we could contact them in case of anything in the course of our safari, that was a really job well done by the tour operator and I say thank you for always bringing your customers needs to you r attention we left JKIA and we commenced on our adventure. We had a terrific time, Peter's knowledge of all the animals, his patience in answering all our questions and his quest to find us all the big five went above and beyond. The hotel we stayed in (Sopa lodges in Nakuru and Naivasha then Serena Lodge in Masai Mara) exceeded our expectations. Beautiful place with a beautiful view. Thank you Peter for a fun, informative trip and thank you Fina for great customer relation, Can't recommend you enough.

Excellent holiday experience right from the start inquiring the communication was good until we arrive at the airport. Our guide Joseph was really professional and exceeded our expectations fully. He made us feel very proud and it was a privilege to visit Kenya. It was a brilliant memories from the time we arrived the lady from the office welcomed us with a big smile and gave us our safari hats, we felt so welcomed. We had a wonderful trip to Kenya. Our safari was organized by Across the Wild Tours & Safaris, and it was the most wonderful holiday for both of us my husband, our 2 children and I have ever experienced. They were always quick to respond to us and from the moment we arrived at the airport we felt so welcomed, everything was well organized. All our accommodations were all 5 star, and the service from office staff to driver guide was of such a high standard. Our guide together with the office staff picked us from the airport and took us to Eka Hotel for overnight and started our safari the next day. It was an 8 day plan so we spent 7 days on safari with our guide Steve and it was amazing. He truly made our trip such an immersing experience. He was very professional and friendly. This was an ideal tour for us that exceeded our expectations fully. We were extremely impressed with the amount of wildlife we were able to see plus the river crossing in mara, thanks to the skilled and knowledgeable guide. We also had an opportunity to visit the Maasai village which was an awesome experience to learn the masai culture. Across the wild thank you for making our holiday dream possible and we highly recommend you to everyone planning safari to Kenya.

A simply fantastic experience from start to finish with Across The Wild Tours and Safaris!
My girlfriend and I took a twelve day private trip during late August / early September 2022 with Across the Wild Tours and Safaris visiting Kenya's Tsavo East, Tsavo West, Amboseli and the Masai Mara. We rate Across the Wild ten out of ten and would certainly use them again and highly recommend them to anyone else who is interested in taking a similar trip! From the start communications were fast and efficient which made the entire booking process simple. It also made submission of our eVisa applications very straight forward. We feel the pricing was right for the service provided and accommodation etc included in the trip. Our two guides Dedan and Daniel were wonderful people and exceptionally knowledgable about all of the wildlife we saw which meant we also got a great education as part of our holiday!! Fina is a brilliant organiser and host and it was great she came to meet us at the airport when we arrived in Nairobi. Highlights of the trip have to be the balloon trip over the Masai Mara, the view from our room at the Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge and seeing so many Lion, Leopard and Cheetah! If you're thinking of going on a safari, then choose Across the Wild Tours and Safaris - they are brilliant!

Outstanding service from start to finish. Organising the trip and arranging the itinerary was seamless and communication via email was extremely prompt. The suggestions and advice were well received and turned out to be spot on. The trip and safari experience was every bit good. The driver and guide (David) was extremely professional and experienced, he provided a first class service. There were no hidden extra's everything as detailed in the itinerary was included and the Safari was good value for money. One particular highlight amongst many was the balloon experience and one extra excursion that we would highly recommend. AN ADVENTURE TO RECALL ANYTIME!!!
What can I say!! , First I would like to appreciate the gesture that Across the wild Tours offered to us, its my 3rd safari and I have never had a chance to be given a mobile phone with any other tour operator but Across gave us a cell phone with some talk time in it this is the way to go it really made us feel connected with them and avoided any doubt of no communications Bravo Fina! that was special. This was the best trip we have ever had. The whole trip was so amazing, everything from the hotels to game drives and the animals we liked it. Watching those amazing animals was one of the best experiences and a memory that will stay with me forever .The service of the driver guide Steve we vote him first rate. He was our best guide, and we found him to be not only incredibly but also extremely kind and charming to be with. He also has very wide wild eyes to be able to find animals wherever they are hiding. It was a private trip and each day was better than the yesterday as we could always sit down with Steve to plan on how to go about the next day, so we were always surprised by new and exciting experiences. The safari was so amazing, We saw many animals, others up close making it easier to take photos. We have visited many places in the world but Kenya has just stolen our hearts. Fina and Steve. Unbelievably Amazing First Time Safari Experience!
We booked the Safari around 8 months in advance for me and my father, the planning and communication with Fina was perfect beforehand. We emailed her and got a response on the same day, across the wild had a pre proposed itinerary, we could customize this to our needs, and all this too was quickly and efficiently communicated, we wanted to remove a night and add it in another park, and this was done rapidly with no problem. I had planned this for 3 people, however only few weeks before one of us had to cancel out, despite this very short notice, Fina was able to call hotels and change the booking while also giving money back with minor cancellation fees, this was handled very well by the agency. On the day of arrival, Fina had managed to meet us in the hotel despite the very late time, this was very hospitable and well appreciated. All the Payments were safe and handled well by the Across the Wild. All the promises on the itinerary were delivered and exceeded. The booking was very reliable with no problems at all, flawless! During the trip there was a Wifi problem, so my mother back at home was worried because we hadn’t messaged for a whole day, so Fina called us to make sure we were alright and told my mother the news. Fina throughout the trip conveyed her regards to us through our guide David, which was well appreciated. Our Guide David was Fantastic! He was kind and hospitable from the very start of the journey at the pickup in the airport. He was eager to show us the best safari possible for the next 10 days. He was very knowledgeable, not only in the wildlife but in Many other things. My father and David had great conversations about politics and life in Kenya etc, he taught me and my father a lot of facts, while we also had many things to share about our culture (India), he was keen to learn about different cultures just like us, he is very easy to talk to. David is also very punctual, he was always early and ready to kick off game drives, transport to other parks etc. He had the Land cruiser prepped with roof open, windows open and our bottles filled with water before every game drive. The Land cruiser was slightly old with some issues like door getting jammed sometimes etc however this did not really create any issue on the whole, we never had problems during game drives with the cruiser as it was always fixed by David in time, and no serious issue to the cruiser anyways. We had to once wait at a gas station during transport longer than expected, this bothered my dad slightly as he felt this part wasn’t organized that well and was wasting some time, however I personally didn’t find this a huge problem as we reached on time in the end. David seemed to know everything about the wildlife in Kenya, from the trees to the smallest of birds, the massive amount of wildlife knowledge was amazing, given the fact that I’ve been a wildlife enthusiast since a young age. He is eager to teach this to us, as he sometimes questions us about animals and places to keep us interacted. He is a very careful driver, trying his best to reduce the impact of bumps and potholes on the road for the passengers, he kept within the speed limit during transport which made us feel very safe. He is also very respectful to the animals, keeping distance and giving them privacy, yet giving us the perfect shots of the animals, we got very close interactions while still respecting the wildlife. He was very patient and listened to our wants and needs as well. He gave us plenty of time to just relax and enjoy the animals around us. He was so good at giving us animal satisfaction that we did not want to take any more pictures of Lions because we had more than enough! We saw the big 5 and way way more! David also positioned us for the best view of a cheetah hunt which we witnessed on our last day, he made each game drive top the last one! I mentioned that my favorite animal was the cheetah, he ensured we see the cheetah, and we got to observe a cheetah for a whole day, and witness every moment of a cheetah’s day, this was amazing and all thanks to his knowledge of parks and patience given during the drives. He also was funny and insightful. If I had to go again I would definitely choose David as our guide. A very gentle and humble person. We hope his family can visit the Mara soon as they haven’t been there yet. We were at Amboseli, Ol Pajeta , Lake Naivasha and Masai Mara, for a total of 10 days, all the lodges were friendly and impeccable, sweetwaters at Ol Pajeta is definitely a recommendation, with a must do night safari as an optional cost. The lodges were chosen by the agency and were all great choices. We had seen almost everything and we left very very happy and satisfied, we had a safe trip too especially during the election etc, so we thank across the wild a lot for giving us this opportunity for this great experience. I am looking to come back again with more family hopefully some time in the future! What a wonderful experience! Across the Wild fulfills an amazing experience at a good monetary value, I definitely recommend!
