Very smooth, great communication, everything was as promised.

The tour was exactly as advertised and so much better. Everything from the pickup to drop off at the park went smooth and perfect. But than at the park everything was even better. We had a guide by the name of Frank who was not only very experienced at finding animals, he was also entertaining, and even more importantly very knowledgeable about all the animals and history of the park. This experience was beyond my expectations.

Fantastic 2 day Nyerere safari

As a solo traveler I was a bit nervous that there would not be options available to me (especially at a reasonable price) but huge shoutout to Winnie who held my hand through the process including when some flight issues meant I had to shorten from 3 days to 2. Isaya was an amazing guide as others have noted and we made the most of the shortened time. Would note that drive to Nyerere from Dar was only around 4 hours each way as I saw some sources mentioning a much longer transit time. The road isn’t great but wasn’t as bad as I had feared.

Amazing trip

Thank you very much to Kihindo team, incredible safari. Massai village visit and safari was incredible and definitely valuable for the price. All was all organised and our guide was very good. If you looking for a safari, I recommend to message this company, they will set up the perfect trip for you ☺️

Very professional, excellent value for money.

All the arrangements went very smoothly. We have exchanged emails and always got quick and clear response. Winnie from Kihindo was very helpful, even outside the scope of our arrangement (eg helped us book a hotel in Mang’ula after the safari). I think it is very good value for money. For instance in Nyerere NP we stayed at Mloka Village lodge suggested by Winnie and it turned out a really nice place within the budget range. Kihindo is very reliable and efficient. As to the tour: we chose Nyerere and Mikumi and we really liked the first one, even though it is covered by bush and animals are less exposed than on a savanna. But you are not in a motorcade of safari vehicles and can enjoy the park in peace. The bushwalk in Nyerere (organized by the park) is focused on tribal medicine and customs whereas I would prefer it to be centered around wildlife observation. The boat trip on Rufiji river is great. In Mikumi (which was our specific request) it’s more easy to spot animals but I had the impression that there is a growing tourism pressure on the park (including expansion of the airstrip). If I were to choose between the two, I would opt for Nyerere. Anyway, the remarks on Mikumi do not relate to Kihindo services which I rate very high and excellent value for money.

We choose Kihindo for a 2 days tour and 1 night to Mikumi, and it was amazing! First of all, if you choose Kihindo, you will be supporting a local company with no third parties. Second, best value for money! If you were thinking about of doing a Safari and don't want to spend 5000$ each, here you have an affordable option

My family and I have been on a fantastic safari trip and one of the important parts of the trip was our fantastic guide (Kennedy), who was welcoming and always with a smile. He was good at informing us and happily answered our questions. During our entire safari stay, good food and care were provided. Everyone around us was nice and welcoming. We can highly recommend Kihindo Tours and Safaris, we had a great experience and are very happy with our tour. Kihindo are very service minded and helped us tailor made a two day Safari tour where we traveled by train. The communication worked very well using what’s up, both in planning the trip and for questions along the way. Winnie at Kihindo was always quick at responding and always very helpful. Kihindo provided great service; we were picked up at our hotel and when we came to the train station our guide followed us to our platform so we were sure to get on the right train. In Morogoro we were picked up by an other driver who drove us to Mikumi National Park for our safari. The Safari itself was amazing and we had a great guide, Jackson. After the safari we very driven to our lodge, Camp Bastian and were picked up again next morning for another half day in Mikumi before going back. When we arrived in Dar es-Salaam a driver was waiting for us to take us to the airport for our flight back to Sweden. So everything worked well and we are very happy with our Safari tour!

Excellent safari experience

Our 3 day Safari in Nyerere Nationalpark was a breathtaking Experience we will never forget. The Communication with Winnie was so easy. If we had questions she answered them so quickly. We went on a 4-day safari to Mikumi, and we couldn’t be more delighted with the experience. It was a perfectly organized Safari experience with incredible driver, guides and backoffice.

We did 3-days Safari to Mikumi National Park travelling with Train from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro. Everything works perfect in time. Transfer to trainstation, train to Morogoro and the transfer to Nationalpark. Especially noteworthy are the drivers, Jackson the guide and Winnie. Great loveable people who make safari a great experience. We have seen giraffe, antilopes, lions, Gnus, Zebras, elephants, buffelos, Pumba;) and Monkeys. It was a great and almost surreal experience to see them in free nature. Its an absolutly recommendation!

My boyfriend and I did a two day trip - 1 day in Mikumi and 1 day in the Uluguru Mountains. Everything was wonderful! Kihindo is very on top of communication and took care of everything - meals, transport, etc. We were surprised to learn our safari was private, which made it even better! Considering it also included a night stay in a nice lodge, we thought it was well worth the price for everything we got. Our tour guides were awesome - so knowledgeable and kind! Shoutout to Danford, our guide at Mikumi, who went out of his way so we could go back to see the hippos and crocs at the end of the day, then took us for an up close of the lions! We were happy with the food the entire trip, particularly want to shout out Camp Bastian, where we stayed for a night. Our tour guide for the second day was great and took many photos for us! Will say that the hike to the waterfall is all uphill, but definitely worth it to get to pass through the area and greet the local people! The waterfall was awesome and there were some amazing views on the way up. Highly recommend this company!

Magical, Authentic and Unforgettable !

Still feeling nostalgic about my trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar last May...!! A huge thank you to the entire local team, and especially to Isaya and Kapende, for this absolutely magical experience! This journey exceeded all my expectations: a rich and well-crafted itinerary, blending wild nature, meaningful encounters, and relaxing moments. We were a small group of six travelers, which made the experience all the more friendly and smooth, traveling together in one vehicle always accompanied by our incredible guides. The safaris gave us unforgettable scenes: majestic lions, entire families of elephants, giraffes, zebras, ... and of course the famous "Pumbaa" and "Timon" ! All in the middle of breathtaking landscapes. It was also the cultural and human moments that truly left a mark on me — like visiting Stone Town in Zanzibar or our immersion in a Maasai village in the heart of Mikumi National Park in Tanzania. I was touched by the kindness of everyone we met along the way, the beauty of the accommodations that blended with the local culture and natural surroundings, and above all, the constant feeling of being safe and well taken care of. We discovered also the famous way of life: Hakuna Matata!! A special mention to our guide Isaya, whose kindness, positivity, and knowledge shaped each of our days, and to Kapende, our amazing driver, always smiling, highly experienced, and the source of so much laughter!
