Beautiful Safari
We had an amazing 3-day safari experience at Nyerere National Park! The highlight was definitely the boat safari on the Rufiji River, where we got to see countless hippos and crocodiles up close in their natural environment – truly breathtaking. The full-day game drive was equally incredible. We were lucky enough to spot everything we had hoped for: elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, lions, warthogs, antelopes, and of course, more crocodiles. It was like living a dream, surrounded by the beauty of African wildlife. On the last day, we enjoyed a fun and unique walking safari in the bush with a Bushman, which gave us a completely different perspective of the park and its ecosystem. Our accommodation was clean, comfortable, and very functional – we couldn’t have asked for better. The food was delicious, fresh, and authentic. We were always provided with packed lunches during the safaris, and even for the transfer back to the airport, which was a thoughtful touch. Overall, this was an unforgettable experience! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exciting safari adventure that combines incredible wildlife encounters with great value for money.

Incredible nature sights and educative tour guide in Mikumi National park
I traveled with Kihindo Tours and Safaris to Mikumi National Park in December, accompanied by three friends. Our tour guide, William, picked us up from our accommodation in Dar es Salaam early in the morning, around 6 a.m., and we drove together to our hotel near the park. In the evening, we visited a Maasai village where we had the opportunity to take part in a Maasai tour. The guide taught us about their way of life and showed us around, which was an enriching experience. We then returned to the hotel and enjoyed dinner at their restaurant. The following day began with breakfast at 6 a.m., followed by a short drive to the national park. On the way, we already saw several animals, including zebras, antelopes, and giraffes. We quickly realized that luck was on our side, as we managed to spot four of the Big Five in just a few hours (there are no rhinos in Mikumi, which is the fifth of the Big Five). Throughout the day, William, our exceptional guide, took the time to explain the characteristics of each animal we encountered and answered all of our questions with great care. Lunch was served at a restaurant within the park, where we were accompanied by monkeys roaming around the area, all while enjoying a beautiful view of the savannah. We ended the game drive around 5 pm and were served dinner back at the hotel. On the second day of the safari, the weather turned rainy, but this did not bother us, as we were in a vehicle with a roof—unlike most other safari companies we observed. It was actually quite beautiful to witness the dramatic transformation of the landscape as the rain began, and it added to the surreal feeling of being immersed in nature. We informed William that we wanted to experience a more relaxed, "slow TV"-style safari, simply watching the animals at our own pace, which he was more than happy to accommodate. His flexibility and attentiveness made the experience even more enjoyable, and I appreciated this personal touch, which was a major advantage of having a private guide. On the third day, we had a travel day, as we drove back to Dar es Salaam and were dropped off at the ferry terminal for our trip to Zanzibar. Overall, it was a highly enjoyable experience, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Kihindo Tours and Safaris to anyone considering a safari in Tanzania.

Professional and safe operator
We chose Kihindo because they were the first to contact us and provided us a detailed travel plan and quote for the safari. Kihibdos quote was not the cheapest but also not the most expensive one we received, they offered us good price and very good communication at all times. Winnie did amazing job in organazing our tour in short notice! We chose the 2 day, one night in Mikumi National Park, which proved to be very good value for money spent. We were transported to the park from Dar safely and in good time by our safari driver, William. The safari was an amazing experience, we got to see 16 lions, hundreds of seepras and impalas, many giraffes, elephants, hippos and much more. Driver William was very professional and got us through some of the most difficult rain soaked muddy roads. William also provided us information on the animals we saw at the park and most importantly knew where to find the animals. Overal the safari was the highlight of our 2,5 week stay in Tanzania and we are very happy to have chosen Kihindo Tours and Safaris. - Jari & Laura from Finland

Perfect partner for your safari adventure
We (a family of two adults and two kids) booked the 4-Day/3-Night Budget Safari to Mikumi and Ruaha National Park, and I can highly recommend it. What you get is a perfectly organized, unforgettable adventure led by a guide who feels more like a friend than just a guide. I’d like to especially highlight William, our guide, who is not only exceptionally knowledgeable but also a warm and talented host. Ruaha National Park deserves special mention it’s stunning, diverse, and offers everything you could hope for in a safari, without the crowds or over-commercialization. A heartfelt thank you to Kihindo Tours and Safaris for giving us such a memorable 4 days. Best value for money. I encourage everyone to give it a try you won’t regret it!

Kihindo Tours and safaris were reliable and safe organisation for solo lady traveler. I felt safe and well looked after during whole time. My guide and driver were very good and they knew a lot of animals and their behavior, local nature and plants too. They both speak very good English, had good sense of humor and they were extremely polite and we had great time together during whole safari. Also all timetables, transportation's etc. were always in time. Thank you so much for unforgettable experience in Mikumi National Park. Bibi

My recent safari experience surpassed all expectations! From the moment we arrived, the sights and sounds of the African wilderness captivated us. Our guides led us on exhilarating game drives, where we witnessed lions, elephants, and more in their natural habitat. The lodge offered a comfortable retreat after thrilling days of exploration. Incredible
Excellent service, very friendly guides, and the transport from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi was comfortable and fun with our guide Isaia, who was always attentive and kind to us. The hotel was very clean and the staff treated us very well. The only downside was that we had to pay for drinks at dinner, even though everything was supposed to be included. Other than that, everything was great.

Such an amazing experience with Kihindo Tours and Safari
From the start Kihindo Tours and Safari were very efficient with Winnie giving advice on what would be the best Safari option for time of year - Mikumi 3 day. Good collection from the airport and helpful navigating the area. Isaya was an excellent guide for the 3 days. Location and accommodation was great. Godfrey was a good driver for the Safari day. The company is amazing with the attention to detail and care. Would definitely recommend to anyone for transport and safaris. Thank you for an amazing experience

It was a incredible experience
In Dar es Salaam we were picked up by Isaya from Kihindo Tours, and after a 6 hour journey we arrived in Makumi. There we started the 3-day safari tour. Isaya knew a lot about the animals. We saw all the animals we wanted to see. We saw several lions eating a zebra, which was definitely the highlight. Just like the rare leopard, which we saw twice. Isaya certainly contributed to this beautiful trip! It was a great experience not to forget! Thank you Isaya. (automatic translation from Dutch)

Dream come true
Asante sana! I booked a safari for my family (me, my wife and 2 adult sons) from Finland. Booking was easy and everything was as promised and all went very smoothly. We had a boat safari, one full day game drive and morning walk on the last day. Already on the boat safari we saw much more than expected. Our guide Abel was fantastic. During game drive we saw much more than expected. We definitely feel that we got the best safari experience we could have hoped for. Our accommodation was at Mloka Safari Lodge. Place was pleasant and service and food was great. Personally I appreciated cold beer after long days. If I am going to have another safari in Tanzania, I will get from Kihindo.

Enthusiastic
From the moment we signed the operators were very response and always checking in, the driver Peter was very enthusiastic and went to great efforts to make sure we could see as much as we could on the safari! The staff at the lodge we stayed in were all very welcoming and helpful and the sunrise boat tour was a wonderful touch!

Four Days, Two Parks, One Incredible Safari Adventure
We did a four-day safari visiting two national parks: Mikumi and Ruaha. Mikumi is beautiful, but Ruaha truly preserves the wild and authentic soul of Tanzania. Everything exceeded our expectations — from logistics to staff, from accommodation to the quality of the food. Parks were breathtaking, the car was safe and comfortable, and we always had plenty of cold water available. Staff & Organization The organization was impeccable — we always felt guided, safe, and supported. Winnie assisted us remotely before and throughout the trip: she was kind, responsive, and incredibly helpful in shaping the best itinerary for us. Michael, who picked us up in Morogoro, made our experience truly unforgettable — his presence, kindness, and deep connection with the land transformed the trip; without him, it simply wouldn’t have been the same. Israel, our guide in Mikumi, is warm and very experienced, with a genuine love for nature and wildlife. Danford, our driver in Ruaha, is a talent behind the wheel — passionate, sharp-eyed, and incredibly skilled at finding animals. He’s also a great person to talk to and share stories with. Accommodation All the places we stayed at were clean and welcoming, with excellent staff. The camp inside Ruaha may need some renovation, but it felt safe and offered a truly immersive experience. The final lodge, perched on a hill overlooking the park, was exceptional — newly built, peaceful, with stunning views of the sunset over the savannah. Program Overview The tour began in Dar es Salaam, where we were picked up early and brought to the train station for a 1.5-hour ride to Morogoro. There, Michael welcomed us with a spacious and comfortable 4x4, fully stocked with cold water. We headed to Mikumi National Park and met Israel, who guided us through our first safari where we spotted elephants, giraffes, and lions under a magnificent sunset. That night we stayed just outside the park in a cozy and stylish lodge. The next morning, we set off for Ruaha. Despite a delay due to a road incident, we arrived in time for an evening game drive with Danford — possibly the best driver we’ve ever had. Just 30 minutes in, we came across a group of eleven lions feeding on a giraffe — a powerful and emotional experience that brought us face to face with nature’s raw reality. That night, we slept in the heart of Ruaha. After the initial thrill of knowing we were surrounded by wildlife, we felt perfectly safe thanks to the on-site ranger. The next day started at dawn and was packed with sightings, including a leopard resting under a tree beside its fresh antelope prey. Ruaha’s vast herds of elephants and incredible biodiversity made it a true highlight of the trip. We spent the final night in a spectacular lodge with panoramic views over the park — the perfect place to reflect and enjoy one last African sunset before heading back the next day.

Simply amazing!
We booked to go to mikumi national park by sgr train from dar es salaam. The communication from start to finish was excellent, we were a family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 5 and 7, the staff at Kihindo tours treated us like family from the initial booking until the end of the trip. Our guide and driver was superb and made us all feel so comfortable and welcome, nothing was too much for them. We had a great time seeing the animals in the park but also spending time with local Tanzanians who happened to be the tour company colleagues. Thank you to Winnie, Isiah, Abdul, Saloneke and Jackson!

Very profesional and great people.
The safari was absolutely fantastic. The crew, Salonik and Peter, who looked after us were great and especially professional. We visited a Maasai village, we learned a lot about the Maasai people and culture, it was very interesting. The next day we visited the Safari all day, it was an experience of a lifetime, a dream come true. Thank you to Kihindo Safari for making it possible.
