The best safari we ever had. The organisation was perfect.

An unforgettable excursion. We (2 adults and a 10 year old child from Austria) were picked up early in the morning on the first day by our driver Isaya. The car was very comfortable and everything was well organised. Isaya was very nice and provided us with information on the 5 hour drive to Mikumi National Park. It was a great journey and we heard and saw a lot about the country and its people. We had lunch in a restaurant. This was also included and the food was delicious. We arrived at Camp Bastian around 2pm. The camp was beautiful and also had a great pool, which our daughter was very happy about. At around 4 pm we drove to the Maasai village. The Maasai danced and there was a guided tour of the whole village. Our Maasai Saloniki explained everything to us and it was super informative. At 6pm we drove back to camp and had dinner. The food was buffet style and very tasty. Our room was huge. It was clean and the bathroom was huge. The next day we left very early after breakfast for the national park. We had a huge open jeep for the three of us alone. We had two guides with us. Saloniki and Jackson. Both were great and were very keen to tell us everything about the animals and that we would see lots of them. They read the tracks and followed them. That day we were the only ones in the park to see the lions because our guides were so attentive. We had lunch in the park. This was also in buffet form and was again very tasty. Our tour of the park didn't end until 6.30am and we saw so many animals and learnt so much. The next day we travelled back to Dar es Salaam with our driver Isaya. It was another great journey and we then had lunch in Dar es Salaam itself. We had no additional costs apart from tips (which everyone really earned) or souvenirs. I can really recommend this tour with Kihindo Tours and Safari to everyone. There was nothing to complain about. I organised the organsition myself through Winnie from Kihindo tour. She was super quick to respond and answered all my questions. Great organisation and great people.

Incredible one day safari with Kihindo. Our guide Dearden was incredibly knowledgeable and we saw countless animals. Ticked off nearly all of the big five in one morning! Highly recommend this company!!

In a word great, a fantastic tour operator

The 2 -day safari was fantastic. Seen so much nature and lots of wild animals. It was all super well arranged, neatly picked up at the agreed time at our hotel in Dar El Salaam. Then one of the people of Kihindo Tour and Safari neatly dropped off at the train to Morogoro, starting with our 2 -day safari. Arriving in Morogoro we were picked up by Isaya, our guide for the upcoming 2 days and also owner of Kihindo Tour and Safari. From Morogoro we were immediately driven to Mikumbi National Park, to start with our Safari Tour. Mikumbi National Park is a very beautiful piece of unspoilt nature, full of all kinds of wild animals. We came across everything on our first day, from monkeys to of course one of the most beautiful animals of the Safari, the Lion. In the afternoon enjoyed a delicious lunch and being able to eat in the evening in Kamp Bastiaan. Early the next morning on the road to see even more beautiful things such as the beautiful sunrise. Until lunch had a fantastic safari again. In which all kinds of wild animals have seen again, antelopes, wild beasts, giraffes, elephants, crocodiles and of course the lions again. After lunch being able to relax in Camp Bastiaan and then to the Masai to get a tour of their village there. And what was also very pleasant, we had not yet arranged the way back to Zanzibar from the train station. Isaya has all arranged this neatly for us, tickets for the ferry and a taxi to bring us back to our accommodations. All in all, this Safari is highly recommended.

I really loved the safari with Kihindo Tours and Safari! The guide Fransis was excellent and I saw so many animals throughout the day. Since I was traveling alone, Fransis did everything he could to make me feel safe and also he took super great pictures. Great safari company! Absolutely recommended!

Tour was smooth from start to finish. All staff were welcoming, polite and informative. Saloniki was fantastic and ensured we found all the animals and gave us enough time to get the photos we wanted. He was very educated on the animals.

The Safari Experience was incredible. Our tour guides Nuhu and Saloniki were very well informed. They would answer every question and tried to find as many animals as possible. We also liked the accomodation and the communication with the office which was all via whatsapp.

The safari went perfectly well. We started at 6:30 a.m. and continued until 6:00 p.m. We saw a lot of animals. Our guide Danford stopped at each animal. we first arrived in the massai village, an incredible experience, we did not wear the traditional clothes. Geoffrey and William really took the time to explain to us the custom of this community, to go around the village with a Massai and finish while dancing together. The next 2 days took us on a safari in search of animals, we saw lions, impalas, wildebeest, buffaloes, zebras, birds, lizards, crocodiles, hippopotamuses, monkeys, girages, foxes, vultures, facochers and more. It was magical, and our guides made it better. Brilliant experience, would recommend everyone

My girlfriend and I had an amazing trip and unforgettable experience with Kihinido Tours and Safaris for a reasonable price. First I came in touch with Winnie, who answered me every question immediately. I felt free to ask everything, even if the question seemed dumb. She was very polite and professional, and the booking process was very easy and fast. Then she also considered our wishes, like additional breakfast and the pick-up place. Then the actual trip started, and Michael picked us up from our hotel in Dar es Salaam. He was on point and very polite even if it was 4 am in the morning. We had a very pleasant 4-hour ride to the Mloka Safari lodge and a very nice talk with Michael. His English is very fluent, and he is also a smart person one can have interesting conversations with. The Mloka Safari lodge was not very special or luxurious, but the staff was very polite and the food was also very delicious. After that we went on a full-day (9 am - 6.30 pm) game drive in Nyerere National Park with Michael and Tiko. For us the day was unforgettable; besides very nice and unique landscapes, we saw giraffes, lions, elephants, crocodiles, hippos, and much more. Michael and Tiko also told us very much about the animals, which was very interesting. Their passion for what they were doing was contagious. We also learned much about their lives and Tanzania in general and told them things about Germany. We felt very safe all the time, and the two were trying their best to show us much. This game drive surpassed our expectations. On the next day we had a boat drive in the morning in the Rufiji River, which lasted 2 hours. Luckily the boat was covered with a roof so the strong rain was bearable. We enjoyed this experience, where we saw hippos, crocodiles, and monkeys because of the unique landscape, but would not do it a second time. I would recommend talking to Kihinido Tours and adding an additional game drive in the morning instead of the boat drive, which I assume would be possible because of the flexibility of this company. Ultimately the ride back was also very pleasant, and we talked for hours with Michael. He brought us to the airport in Dar es Salaam, and we arrived on time for our flight. To come to an end, I would really recommend this company for a safari because our experience was perfect. Every person we were involved with (especially Michael) was very polite and professional. We also would really recommend doing a two-day (or longer) trip instead of a one-day trip like people who are staying in Zanzibar like to do. We also stayed actually in Zanzibar but came to Dar es Salaam for the safari and spent three very nice days on the mainland, which was the highlight of our vacation. I recommend everybody choose this company for a safari experience, and especially the people we were in touch with. Thank you for everything.

It was an exciting experience. The organization was perfect, from transportation to accommodations to meals. They were always available and quick to respond. The guides, both on the car safari and the walking safari, were very knowledgeable, and listening to them was very interesting.

First of all, the tour was extremely well organised. The second I was picked up from my hotel, I didn’t have to worry. My guide, Saloniki, took care of me the whole day! He got me as close as possible to all the animals, lions, zebras, giraffes, etc, and told me lots of interesting facts I didn’t know! Got some great photos and had a fabulous day! Big shout out to Saloniki and the Kihindo Tours team!

Horrible, be careful, it doesn't deliver the service you pay for.

Be careful, they don't provide the services you pay for. The conditions we paid for were not what they offered us once we were there. The water service, supposedly free, was a lie; they made us pay for it after the experience was over. The vehicle for the safari was completely different from the one you see in the pictures before we paid for the safari (the condition of the vehicle left much to be desired, and the one we booked was closed on the sides and open on top, and at no point did they provide us with what we paid for). You pay for a guide, and in our case, he didn't speak to us at all during the entire trip, nor did he offer us water all day (when, in theory, you're paying for a guide and for water during the trip). The only time he spoke to us more fluently was at the end of the safari to tell us his name and show us a QR code to rate him, in an aggressive way, as if we absolutely had to give him a good rating. On our first day visiting the Maasai village, we waited for over an hour, and when we finally arrived, they didn't even apologize. The food service was very poor; when we arrived for lunch, we were given a sandwich... They always under-served us. And they offered no solution. We want to claim a refund, but they haven't responded to any of our messages. We will not recommend Kihindo Tours to anyone we know.

We had an outstanding experience. Our guide was incredibly respectful — both towards nature and towards us as highly sensitive travelers. I spent three days and two night safari with this tour operator, they took us from our hotel in Dar and brought us directly to the lodge in Nyerere national park! They have been so nice to get any of our requests. William, our guide was amazing, answering every questions we had and fulfilled our every request!

We did a 3 day tour to Mikumi National Park. We felt very well advised and taken care of in advance. Isaya helped us in advance with all the questions we had (visa, hotel recommendations, etc.) and we also received support with our onward journey (ferry to Zanzibar, taxi driver). The tour/safari itself was very well organised and planned, but also left individual wishes open. Isaya and his brother Godfrey were very eager to tell us everything about their culture, the animals and their country. We felt comfortable and welcome from the very first second. They were always on time and very concerned about us. We can recommend Kihindo Tours 100% because we had such a fantastic time. Hakuna matata.
