MUST DO!!!
I trusted Isaya without knowing him and he didn’t disappoint me, on the contrary he was superb!!! I highly recommend booking KIHINDO Tours. Isaya is a young, eager man wanting to give the best of him to bring quality to the trip. He responded promptly to all my questions via WhatsApp and found the perfect safari for us, two families with kids. We arrived to Selous Reserve and he was waiting for us with his big smile and friendly attitude to introduce us to our AMAZING ranger named Joe. Joe not only is nice and kind, but he’s knowledgeable and really knows the place very well so we had 2 great days chasing animals, going through different parts of the reserve and learning a lot while having fun!!! He even took us to a hot spring. We saw many animals and had a blast, and the most important: we felt safe!!! We stopped at “Selous Impala Camp” a jewel inside the park with super friendly staff, yummy food and great chilled vibe- I’d definitely recommend Isaya + Joe for an endless memory adventure. Africa might be far from home but it’ll be in our hearts forever!!! Asante sana Isaya, thank you Joe- Hakuna Matata!!!

Fantastic, friendly, organised and great value for money!
We were a group of 4 friends looking for an affordable and diverse safari which Kihindo tours managed to organise and execute perfectly. We had a private car and our driver-guide Wiliam was on point with everything: he was informative, funny, professional, spotted lots of animals, managed to get the car through slippery dirt roads and complied to our many bushtoilet stops. We did a combination of Mikumi&Nyerere NP which needed an adapted schedule due to the recent rainfall, but nevertheless we had 4 fantastic days of which seeing 4 of the big five was a highlight! The food was tasty and more than enough, the lodge in Nyerere was beautiful, and sleeping inside Mikumi park was fun. Would recommend Kihindo to everyone wanting to maximise their safari time for a great budget. Winnie from the office was a great help organising it too, and if you get Wiliam to accompany you, you can prize yourself lucky!

From the moment I first reached out to the follow-up message after the safari I was extremely impressed with the quality or service. We had the best time on Safari with Kihindo tours. The company was so well organised and incredibly accommodating to last minute changes in our travel plans. It was really easy to communicate with the company via WhatsApp. A big thank you to Isaya who made our trip an unforgettable experience. The safari trip was really fun around Mikumi national park and we were able to see so many animals. The car was open so we had a great view of everything and it was very comfortable. We had an amazing guided hike up to a waterfall where we were able to swim, this was a great experience to see more of Tanzania and learn about the local environment, culture and nature. Overall we had an amazing experience and highly recommend Kihindo Tours. Thank you so much Kihindo for this unforgettable experience, hope to come back again!

Great staff and an excellent value.
Saw tons of wildlife! Wonderful and knowledgeable guides and drivers. Bastian lodge is great. Long drive, but with rest stop and decent food. Highly recommended package. Good value for the money.

Wonderful experience with an excellent team
We are in Tanzania on our honeymoon and we chose Kihindo Tours and Safaris to do our Safari in Mikumi national park. From the first contact we knew we had made an excellent choice, Winnie was always very attentive :) During our experience we were very lucky to have had Michael as a guide. Michael is a good guy and a super punctual guide, very dedicated, careful and with a great passion/knowledge for animals and the African savannah, thanks to him we had the opportunity to see more than once the animals we really wanted to see, like the lions, elephants and giraffes. For anyone thinking about going on safari in Tanzania, we highly recommend this excellent company!

Perfect safari tour
Thank you very much to Kihindo Tours & Safaris for a super private safari experience. The organisation was very good, the accommodation at the national park was comfortable and we had delicious food. Our guide/driver did his best to see as many animals as possible, he was very responsive to all our requests. They even arranged a special birthday surprise for us, for which we are very grateful. Value for money very good, we recommend!

I felt scammed
We felt scammed. The conditions we paid for weren't what they offered us. Water wasn't free, and the car wasn't the same as in the photos (it was broken all over). The guide spoke only the bare minimum and didn't offer us water during the safari. He even deigned to tell us his name at the end so we could write a review. He arrived over an hour late for one of the excursions, and there wasn't even an apology. You're always hungry at mealtimes; a sandwich and that's it. Their solution? None. They don't answer any of our messages.

Nugu is an exceptional safari guide passionate, attentive, and turning every moment into pure magic!
During this amazing tour we learned so much thanks to our guide, Nugu. We saw a lot of animals (facochere, lions, hippos, giraffes…) but must of all we learned so much about the wild life and the Tanzanian culture and lifestyle. It is really reliable, kind, they take care of every detail you should just do it. But the perfect safari will never exist without Nugu. He is the best one, ask the company, he will guide you and make you love the wildlife, trust me. Stop hesitating, just book and ask for nugu.

An unforgettable safari experience with Kihondo Safaris! Our 3-day budget safari in Mikumi National Park was absolutely fantastic! From the very beginning, Kihondo Safaris made a great impression. Our guide, Michael, was incredibly friendly, approachable, and truly an expert in his field. He not only guided us professionally through the park, but also shared in-depth knowledge about Tanzania’s culture and society. By the end of our safari, we felt like we had gained a much deeper understanding of not just the wilderness, but the country itself. One of the standout aspects was the flexibility and excellent service from Kihondo Safaris. We were able to book additional services, like train tickets, spontaneously and without extra charge. This made our trip even more enjoyable. Because of this great experience, we ended up booking an additional trip to the Udzungwa Mountains, which also went smoothly. Overall, the entire trip was exceptionally well-organized, and we could rely on their service every step of the way. For the price, it was an incredible experience – from the safari to the additional excursions. I can highly recommend Kihondo Safaris and will certainly travel with them again. Hit every expectation I had as a first timer
Had a great experience with this team at the Safari. Only had one day to spare and managed to find this deal, which is a lot cheaper than booking a car ride. The whole event was organised by Minnie who guided me through it all via WhatsApp messages. She was very prompt with her replies to any of my questions throughout the day. At first was picked up at my hotel by Isaiah, who was very kind and walked me through the whole day, helped me through the train station to get to the correct train. The train ride was short and there was AC the whole ride so it didn’t feel too bad. Once I got off the train, I had the pleasant Yauhubi to greet me and drive me to the destination. We had a great conversation on the way and even managed to see some local villages that sell nice souvenirs. Along the way, we were stopped several times by police who were looking for bribes but Yauhubi managed them really well so they did not bother us. At the Mikumi park, my driver was Danford, a lovely gentleman with a very keen eye to spot many animals. Everywhere I looked online said that lions were a rare encounter, but Danford managed to spot 5 of them the time I was there, including one hiding inside a bush. Danford was very knowledgeable about the wildlife there and also made me feel safe and reassured. I managed to have an entire ride by myself and Dan lent me his binoculars to use throughout the journey. He even helped me take some great photos. The only thing I cannot comment on was the food. There was a break in between for food, and the food looked and smelt lovely, but this was during Ramadan and I was fasting, so I did not get a chance to try some. All in all, really glad I got to have this experience. I think a 1 day trip is enough for people who just want to get out of the comfort zone and have not been before. If you are a regular then maybe a longer trip would be great.

Fantastic Safari Service
I recently went on a fantastic safari in Tanzania with Kihindo Tours and Safaris, and I was really impressed with how smoothly everything was organised. Winnie handled all the logistics - from transport to meals and accommodation - making the whole trip stress-free from start to finish. Our journey started with a drive from our hotel in Dar es Salaam to the train station, followed by a 2-hour train ride to Morogoro, where we were met by KP, our friendly driver. He then drove us 2 hours to Mikumi National Park, while our luggage was taken ahead to the hotel so we could begin our safari straight away. Our guide Danford was excellent; knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and very fluent in English. On Day 1, we had a full-day safari (around 9:30 AM to 6 PM) in an open jeep, with lunch provided inside the park. We were lucky to see a wide range of animals including zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, elephants, warthogs, buffalo, antelope, a snake and a lizard. The hotel we stayed at was about 15 minutes from the park and provided both breakfast and dinner. Everything was comfortable and well taken care of. On Day 2, we had another early start (7 AM to 4 PM) for more safari time. Since we had already seen so many animals on the first day, Danford made a special effort to find lions for us - and he did! We also visited a local Maasai tribe, which was a great cultural experience. Day 3 was the journey back to Dar es Salaam, but even then, we were treated to a special moment — a family of lions on the road, with a lioness walking right next to our vehicle. A real highlight to end the trip. Both KP and Danford were fantastic guides; professional, friendly, and full of insight. The whole experience was well-organised, relaxed, and enjoyable. If you’re planning a safari in Tanzania, I’d definitely recommend Kihindo Tours and Safaris.

Perfect safari
We used Kihindo for our private 4-day safari in Nyerere Selous National Park. Everything went great! From the first emails I contacted, I found the staff (Winnie and Pilly) very helpful in answering all my questions. Our driver and guide, William, stayed with us the entire safari, taking care of us throughout, in a very professional and kind manner. He was a fantastic driver on muddy roads, which were very difficult to drive on due to heavy rain. We saw many animals: crocodiles and hippos on the river tour and on the overland game drives we saw many giraffes, elephants, lionesses, zebras, and various types of antelope, wild dogs, and an incredible group of hyenas intent on devouring a hippo carcass. The guide's explanations about the animals and the enviroment were complete and interesting, starting from footprints to find them. The bush walk was also interesting for all the healing properties of the plants, explained by another "eccentric" local guide. The lodge was simple but surrounded by nature, with mongooses and squirrels running around the bungalows. It was very conveniently located near the park entrance, and the food was tasty and plentiful. I would recommend Kihindi and the guide William to anyone looking for the perfect safari!

Amazing experience, great guide
We chose these guys because they were the most responsive and had competitive pricing. Winnie was very good at organising the tour and communicating with us, and William was great company and very knowledgeable about the animals on the safari. We had a fantastic time and saw all the animals we wanted to see - lions, elephants, wildebeest, giraffes, zebras etc. Thank you guys for a great time!

Amazing tour operator
I had a lot of expectations but this tour exceeded them all. We saw so many animals, our guide Gaston showed us as many things as possible and gave a lot of information, the hotel was super pretty. This was an amazing experience and I recommend this tour. Also don't get scared about the rainy season in December because there was almost no rain when I was there.

Amazing experience all around
Started the day by being picked up and dropped off at the train station from Dar. Once we arrived to Morongo we went straight to the game drive. Our tour guide Danford was very knowledgeable and enjoyed the drive as much as we did. Saw Giraffes, Impalas, Baboons, Velvet Monkeys, Warthogs, and the kings of the jungle themselves. It was a bit rushed as everyone was hoping to get into a view of the lions but our driver got a call of another sighting at the end of the day and we checked it out and it was amazing. All around a great experience. The second day we went to the Choma waterfall with our guide Meshack and we opted for the hike instead of the motorcycle ride up. The hike itself wasn’t too strenuous although it was a little over an hour with some water breaks, there were amazing views along the way and the waterfall was even better. Water was cold but you could take a dip and sit on the swing for a bit as well. All around would highly recommend, it was a great experience and one that I will not forget.
