Very professional & funny

I booked a 2 days Safari with Kihindo. I was impressed by how professional it was, and this since the booking from France till my way back to the airport. Everything promised was executed. I was with my wife and my 2 small kids. We loved the guide (Jeffrey) and the driver (William), they were so kind and always worried about our satisfaction and pleasure. We felt the passion from them, they were making sure that we find and meet animals, and, always with impressive explanations. I do recommend Kihindro at 200%.

Danford was an excellent driver, really made sure we saw all of the big 5 and gave accurate descriptions on all of the animals as well. Also showed us the different vegetation that was around the safari

A safari that turned out to be a blast

If it’d be possible I’d give 10 stars. Our private safari with Kihindo was incredible. It’s not a cheap affair but if you’d like to get the best out of the Tanzanian wildlife, there is no other way (in my humble opinion). If you can afford it, just go for it. Joint safaris are a completely different story. We did participate in both kinds and hence my comparison. However I suppose even with a private one you have to have a good luck to experience it to the fullest. We luckily had it. Winnie was the coordinator of our trip and exchange with her (on email and later on WhatsApp a few weeks before our trip) was quick and efficient. 5 nights in 2 different lodges have been booked for us. Mloka Lodge and Bastian where Mloka is our favourite. With such a great human touch we haven’t been greeted anywhere during our journey. We decided to go for 6 days safari during which we aimed to visit two parks in the South: Nyerere and Mikumi. Both of them are great places to spot a lot of animals. But a good guide is the key. Many amazing, touching moments we experienced during the safari happened because of our guide: Michael. All credits go for him. We cannot thank him enough for his great efforts to please us spotting that many animals. But he was doing this in a very respectful way (no chasing after animals at all costs or scaring them; not at all!). He was giving us all the time we needed to contemplate those out of this world creatures, landscapes and spectacles that were going on in front of us. His passion, enthusiasm and great interest for his native wildlife is not only palpable, but also contiguous. His broad knowledge about many environmental aspects is enormous. We learnt from him more than from numerous books about Tanzania we read before our trip. Every evening (except for one) we were dining together exchanging our experiences we had that day. It was also a great opportunity to discuss much more in detail the animals, their habitats, behaviours, rituals…etc. We were speaking about way more topics than the native wildlife. We exchanged on our local customs and aspects of our lives: in Poland, Tanzania, Ireland, Germany. We found many common things. We spoke about so many different topics: political, social, environmental, sustainable, historical, cultural… to name just a few. Michael is a very special guide. You would be lucky to have him as yours at your side. Thanks Michael for everything and good luck in all your future endeavours!

Informative safari experience that exceeded my expectations

The safari exceeded all my expectations. I got a lot of information of the nature, animals and the wild life overall. I was lucky to see all the animals that can be seen in Mikumi. Also, my guide Wiliam told me a lot of the Tanzanian culture, habits and way of living. I found it very interesting and valuable. Something that one cannot rate in money. The 10 km hike was incredible with many waterfalls and a chance to swim in them. There was not a lot of “alone time”, so if you wish to have some during e.g. the meals, inform the organiser before hand. I felt very well taken care of, since Winnie messaged me every day and asked me how my day had been and is there anything that they can help me with. I can recommend KIHINDO tours & safari to others.

Excellent guides

We had a night safari in Mikumi National Park with guides Frank and Mussa. They were excellent in every respect. Well organised, hard working and very knowledgeable. We saw many more animals close-up than we could have imagined. Lions in particular were fantastic. Today we returned for a day safari with Frank. He has extensive knowledge of all the animals and birds and shares interesting detail about every one. There was no question he couldn't answer. What a difference this makes. We saw so many elephants, zebra, giraffe, antelope, buffalo, wildebeest, hyena, vultures, oxpeckers, hippo, superb starling, lions (protecting a kill), warthogs, storks and so much else! Exceeded our expectations. If you need a guide, ask for Frank!

Incredible Mikumi safari with Kihindo Tours—great value, stunning wildlife, and fantastic guides!

We had an excellent safari experience with Kihindo Tours to Mikumi National Park. Our driver, Peter, and our guide, Salonikei, were not only highly professional but also incredibly knowledgeable and kind. They taught us so much about Tanzania—its wildlife, landscapes, culture, and traditions. Peter made the journey comfortable and enjoyable, even stopping to let us try local fruit like fresh pineapple and coconut water. Salonikei’s ability to spot animals and explain their behavior made the game drives fascinating. We saw a wide range of animals in their natural habitat and felt safe, informed, and well taken care of throughout the trip. The experience was also great value for money. Truly remarkable experience, Kihindo Tours’ guides were incredible!

Honestly where do I even begin - what an amazing experience! Winnie was incredible with finding the perfect itinerary, Isaiah who picked us up at the airport showed us Dar es Salaaam and is an incredibly kind and knowledgeable guy, Jackson was such an insanely competent safari driver (on our private tour, he managed to get us within 2 metres (!!!) of a big lion, and we got to see an elephant baby being breastfed), and everyone else was amazing as well - the stay they had arranged for us in Camp Bastian was amazing for us, and Winnie had even made sure that the kitchen (and even the bar where Edgar the barman was making the most amazing cocktails!!!) was open when we arrived late because we didn’t catch the earlier train. Booking with Kihindo is the easiest decision you’ll ever make… they’re so good one of their previous guests (a famous singer from the Baltics) even made a song about them!!

Perfect safari experience

We've done a 3D/2N safari in Nyerere National Park organized by Kihindo Tours and Safaris. Everything was perfect from the first contact till the end of the safari. I've made an enquiry through safaribookings and they've replied almost instantly by email & WhatsApp. We've set all the details through WhatsApp, they were very quick to answer all my questions (specific on the tour itself or general enquires related to other "issues" I had when planning my holidays). Everything was very clear and straightforward - price, payment, tour details, accommodation (they offered a few alternatives to choose from). As for the tour itself, again, everything was perfect: - the transport from Dar es Salaam was done with a private Toyota Avanza that offered all the comfort for the 4-5 hour drive - the accommodation was very good, as it was described and as in the pictures provided - the safari was done with a dedicated safari car - for us it was way better than the transformed Toyotas with an open rooftop where you need to stand up - the guides that we had were very knowledgeable, answered all our questions and tried their best to see as many animals as possible - we did see a lot of animals As a conclusion, I cannot say anything bad about the company or the tour. We had a great time, a lifetime memory.

It was unbelievable. We saw a lot of animals up close. We spent several minutes at each one, so we could observe them perfectly and take pictures and videos. We learned a lot of information about the plants and animals. It was one of our best experience.

Amazing safari and an excellent guide

This was an incredible safari experience isayah and his team were great throughout! On the safari we came up close to elephants, lions, zebras, hippos, warthogs, giraffes and more. It was a pleasure to meet Isayah, he is super friendly, kind and informative - an amazing guide! Camp bastion was very nice, the food was great, even for a family of vegetarians. The airline also lost our luggage and isayah and his team were very helpful and supportive with resolving this. I highly recommend kihindo and would happily go back to them for another safari one day!

Me and my girlfriend have just done a 2 night 3 day safari with Kihindo Tours and it was incredible, we saw so many animals on both the game drive and the boat safari. Excelent Service

We did a 3 day safari to Mikumi with them. They came to pick us up from the hotel in Dar es Salaam and took us to a resort in Mikumi. The safari was incredible and the treatment of the driver William and the guide Isaka very professional and close. They have been aware of everything that we are comfortable and comfortable. They are very punctual, polite and pleasant. In the end they took us to the ferry to go to Zanzibar and helped us buy the tickets. We have very good memories and we recommend it 100%! Amazing Safari

We did the 2 days Safari to Mikumi Nationalpark with Kihindo Safaris. It has been such a great experience. Winnie from the office has been great from the start, really easy communication via Whatsapp, everything was organised really well. We left our passports in our previous accomodation in Moshi and Winnie helped us organise it to get them transported to Daressalam so we could continue our travels after the Safari. This was really great and we are really thankful for her help! The Safari itself was really amazing. Mikumi Nationalpark is very beautiful, we got to see a lot of elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes… just what we wished for. Our guide Michael was great, he had very good knowledge and was trying a lot to search for the animals that we wanted to see. We had a wonderful time with him. We would absolutely book it again. Great experience at Mikumi

We booked a 1-Day Trip Safari for 2 people from Daressalam to Mikumi and our experience was great! Although it was still rainy season we could see a lot of animals and the climate was perfect. Highly professional tour operator with an excellent guide and fantastic accommodation

My friend and I went on a two-day safari of Ruaha National Park, staying at Ruaha Hilltop Lodge for two nights. We are a wonderful experience, thanks to our guide, Danford, the excellent service from Kihindo Tours and Safaris, and the people working at the lodge. We saw many animals, including a leopard and three cheetahs. The price for a private tour was valuable for money. I highly recommend Kihindo Tours and Safaris.
