Joel was very responsive from the very first contact and immediately started working with us to design a safari that truly matched our needs and expectations. He always replied quickly and with great courtesy. Overall, the experience exceeded our expectations, also thanks to the excellent organization of the safari by Joel and Fazil, our guide. We were very happy with the lodges we stayed in, especially during our time in the Serengeti, where the tented camp was absolutely stunning and far beyond what we had imagined. Fazil was an exceptional driver: we managed to see all of the Big Five as well as many other animals. He was always happy to accommodate our wishes and even adjust the itinerary when needed. For example, we visited the Olduvai Gorge (which I highly recommend), and Fazil reorganized the schedule and timing perfectly. Besides being a very knowledgeable guide, he is also a wonderful person. We shared many enjoyable moments together, and the trip was enriched by a genuine sense of friendliness and good company — which is really important when you spend most of the day in a car with other people. All in all, I would highly recommend Pilgrimage Safari to anyone planning a safari.

I traveled solo during the low season and wanted to experience a safari in Tanzania on a budget. Joining a group was the only realistic way to make that happen. I booked the tour about five months in advance and chose mid-range accommodation. Because travelers in my group stayed in different accommodation categories (budget, mid-range, and luxury), there was additional time spent each day picking everyone up — sometimes up to an extra hour of driving. It wasn’t ideal, but I understood it as part of a mixed-group setup, especially during the low season. Derick handled the arrangements and was friendly and easy to communicate with. The company used vehicles and guides from another operator, which I assume is a common practice during low season to consolidate groups. The only unpleasant aspect was that two out of six nights my accommodation was slightly downgraded without advance notice. Better communication here would have made a difference. That said, it didn’t overshadow the overall experience. I was asked in advance about food preferences, but no special arrangements were actually made. I adjusted and simply avoided meat and chicken in the lunch and breakfast boxes, which was manageable but worth noting for travelers with stricter dietary requirements. The safari itself was outstanding. Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Tarangire were unforgettable, and the guides, vehicles, and Serengeti lodge were genuinely five-star in terms of the overall experience. In most lodges (except the first and last nights in Arusha), there was no internet in the rooms — only in common areas like dining or reception — something to be aware of if connectivity matters to you. Overall, the safari experience was excellent and deeply rewarding. For a solo traveler on a budget, it delivered exactly what I came for: remarkable wildlife, strong guiding, and unforgettable days in Tanzania’s national parks

We did a 7 day safari & it was amazing. We saw the big five & many other animals too. We spotted many lions, leopards & got to see many cubs as well. And ofcourse the migration, it was still happening in central serengeti moving to south during our safari in December. It was truly an amazing experience. We signed up for a group tour & in the beginning we had some confusion about the logistics but Gasper, our tour operator made sure that everything went smooth with our itinerary & ensured that everything was arranged properly. He was in contact with us everyday making sure we are okay & we got everything we need. Food was great, I would have liked to see more options in vegetarian but since it is camping style & in the middle of nowhere getting a freshly cooked hot meal felt like luxury & it was amazing. We also did the cultural tours & it was a beautiful experience. The tribes were very warm & welcoming & it was very interesting to learn about their way of living & daily life style. Overall it was a very pleasant experience we enjoyed all the parks, animals & tribes. Thanks to Gasper & Tanzania Pilgrimage safaris for making out trip amazing & unforgettable.

My experience with Tanzania Pilgrimage Safaris have been great. Derick was very thorough in answering any question I had and very flezile in accommodating my requests. Even though I booked a shared tour, I was still able to change my itinerary to a certain degree (I added 1 more night in Serengeti and had a mix of budget and mid-rang accommodation depending on the location). The guides I went with were all amazing, especially Nestory who is very experienced, so I was able to see a lot of unique moments while doing the safaris. (We even saw an impala giving birth!) Despite the fact that it was the low season and the political situation that led a lot of people to canceled and thus resulting in some adjustments during the tour, the company is always communicative and responsive. That made me feel extra safe as a female solo traveler.

We had a wonderful four-day safari in Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater. Our driver, Adrian, was very friendly and accommodating, and we had many wonderful moments with him. Adrian chose the best routes for us, found all the animals we wanted to watch, and told us a lot about the country, the people, and the animals. We saw many elephants, lions, zebras, wildebeests, antelopes, but also ostriches, hippos, buffalo, leopards, cheetahs, jackals, warthogs, crocodiles, porcupines, and much more. The encounters with families and their young were particularly exciting. Above all, Adrian was very reliable; we felt at ease the entire time.

He put together a phenomenal tour for us, and the lodges he selected were beyond our expectations, offering excellent food and wonderfully friendly staff. Every evening he checked in with us to hear about our day and to make sure everything had gone well. Our driver was fantastic—kind, helpful, always punctual, and eager to share his deep knowledge of the animals. He made sure we spotted the Big Five and even tracked down every other animal we asked to see. Truly an outstanding guide. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were always plentiful, with water and drinks readily available. Compared to other tours, we felt the value for money was unbeatable. 5⭐️/5 Pilgrigames Safari did not let us down. When I started asking for quotes in spring it was so hard to decide which operator we should confide in. Joel Raymond stepped in from the start. He was reaching out punctually and gently explaining everything and helping us organize the vacation of a lifetime. From designing the right itinerary to finding the perfect accomodation. Considering the competitive prices it was almost too good to be true. From airport pickup to safari management we always felt looked after. Joel stayed in touch through the all vacation to receive feedbacks and help us if needed. The guide Adrian was so kind during all the safari and made sure we had a perfect and unforgettable experience! Cherry on top: after thinking and rethinking about it we also added the air balloon safari to our tour on our last day in Serengeti. It was pure magic: seeing the dawn and the savannah waking up was a spectacle we will never forget. For our last day in Tanzania we even added an excursion at the Kilimanjaro Foothills to see the Materanu Waterfall: what a change of scenery where the jungle thrives. We were lucky enough to see the peak of this gentle giant on our way to the airport. Forever thankful for this perfect memories.

Joel and Novatus looked after me like a brother would do. They were welcoming, friendly and very kind since the first moment. They helped me a lot when my bag didn't arrive to the airport and I started the safari with no bag. Took me to buy some clothes and when my bag arrived they sent it to me. Last day we had a great time visiting Arusha and I felt like at home with them. Overall safari was great and our driver Hamsa and chef Joshep were great. Such a pleasure to met and be served by such an amazing team. Only thing I would change is the air company because Precision Air has so much trouble to be on time. If you change flight company I would recommend you to any of my friends and family, and if you don't I would also do it. Haha Asante Sana Rafikis. My brothers from a different mother. I am a solo traveler and booked a group joining safari with Tanzania pilgrimage. I was nervous at first with it being a new company with not many reviews but all my fears turned out to be unfounded. Not only, did Novatus answer all my numerous emails he personally picked me up from the airport on my first day in tanzania. Out of all the safari companies i reached out to on safaribookings i chose Tanzania Pilgrimage because Novatus was never pushy or rude in his responses about a quote. The safari overall was excellent, i saw all the animals that i wanted to see, the food was always good and the accommodations with the exception of one was great. The group I was placed with were lovely people and I enjoyed their company. I wouldn’t hesitate to book another safari with them if i’m ever in tanzania again.

Everything was amazing! From the beginning Joel answered to all our questions and reassured us about the organisation and the professionalism of the team. We’ve booked a 6 days safari and I think it was the best solution. At the arrival they coordinated our trip with another group, but everything was incredibly organised. Every day we were seeing different places, with a lot of variation in the vegetation and in the wild life so we never got bored. The accommodations were incredible, everything was so well organised. In the Serengeti, we had the unforgettable opportunity to sleep in a tented camp in the middle of the park, surrounded by the sounds of wildlife. Everyone, in every place, was incredibly nice, always looking forward for our wellness, making us feel like home. A special mention goes to our guide, Elisha. He was so professional, very good driver and really knowledgeable about wildlife, Masai culture and history. He was always trying to give us the best by looking for every animal and taking us to the best spots. It’s thanks to him if we were able to find all the Big 5. In the end, everything was really perfect and I would really recommend this experience and this company to everyone.

Novatus showed understanding and great patience when we had to change our schedule because of my husband's work and arranged everything nicely just a few days before our trip. And all of these places were beautiful, special and impressive! We saw many animals (including the Big 5), the great migration and visited the Masai. I booked a four day safari in March and we made the trip in July. Every Time I had a question before the trip, Gasper answered me immediately and reassured me. Once arrived in Kilimanjaro airport, a driver waited for us and drove us to our hotel where Gasper was waiting for us to welcome us. I was again reassured… The next Morning, Gasper presented us our guide Hamza who showed us the 5 big cats. Hamza is a funny guy and an excellent guide. He did his best to give us a good time. We had excellent food during the safari and Gasper chose nice lodges for us. Once arrived in the lodge, Gasper asked us if our day went well and if we needed something. We spent four excellent days and once back in Arusha, Gasper spent some time with us before our very late flight back. I could not imagine a better tour operator!!!

Me and my fiancé had great experience with Tanzania Pilgrimage Safaris! We booked a 5 day mid range safari covering 4 parks, flying in from Zanzibar. Our driver Benjamin was fantastic and we were able to see all of the animals we wanted to see, including the big 5. He had a lot of knowledge and worked tirelessly throughout our whole trip to give us the best experience. It was a very smooth trip and the accommodation and food was great (they were able to accommodate vegetarians quite well). Booking was also easy, and Joel was very attentive throughout the booking process and during our safari as well. Once we landed in Arusha, Tanzania Pilgrimage Safaris took over and gave us a comfortable experience with water and snacks in the large spacious safari jeep and high quality accommodation throughout. The tented camp in the Serengeti was awesome, and the lodge we stayed in Karatu for 2 nights was a highlight. It was an amazing experience and great value for money.

Joel the tour organiser organised an amazing safari trip for my 3 friends and I. We were lucky enough to see 5 out of the big 5 during the 4 day safari. I loved learning about the Masai tribe and of course getting so close to the animals in the serengeti. It was the stuff of dreams.
